This year has given us great joys, great despair and great surprises, and, as life often teaches us, in dark moments we have to hang on to happy things, or, in this case, strange things that happen to us (and you).
So here is a list of the 6 most absurd things we have encountered or somehow unlocked during this so anomalous 2020.
Jack Black in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2
At the announcement of the remaster of the two best skate titles ever, in the minds of some there was almost no doubt the return, in some form or easter egg, of the caricatured Agent Dick.
By completing all the skater challenges of the game it is in fact possible to unlock him, but the biggest surprise is that the actor Jack Black gives him voice and movements, a simply perfect cameo that perfectly honors the absurd figure of Dick.
The unicorn from hell
Yes, in a game like Doom Eternal a weapon directly taken from Doom 64 is not the most absurd thing, because the trophy can only take it ... DOOMicorn, a skin obtainable by joining the Bethesda account to Twitch Prime.
Essentially it's a crazy, completely free skin for one of the consistently craziest games in the AAA landscape.

Cyberpunk 2077 certainly, in the midst of one of the most violent media storms of 2020, doesn't have much in common with other RPGs like Skyrim or Fallout 4, being much closer to… well, The Witcher 3 but with guns.
Going to the exclamation point southwest of Vista Del Rey you will find yourself in an alley with a corpse; if you pick up the weapon on the ground a mini-quest will start which is not mentioned or explained by the main storyline and… well, the weapon will start talking to you.
Yes, you read that right, he will talk to you and ask you to choose between lethal (headshots) and non-lethal (leg hits) modes. Just to make your life complicated, you will have to choose the opposite of what you actually want because after about 50 hits Skippy (this is the name of the weapon) will permanently switch to the other mode.
One, two, Legion ... stay there!
London is a very strange place, in 2020 in particular, and in Watch Dogs: Legion it is even more so. If using swarms of killer robot bees and summoning flying mega-drones weren't absurd enough for you, well, there's always the Living Statue and the Wizard. These are 2 types of operators that can be recruited: while the first is capable, as it is easy to deduce, of hiding in plain sight, a source of moments worthy of a Benny Hill episode, the second is "simply" able to hypnotize enemy soldiers and NPCs to fight for us ... and even sacrifice himself for us.
The icing on the cake: this otherworldly ability is never explained in the lore of the game, which makes it all a bit more disturbing.

Mafia: Definitive Edition is a good operation of dusting off an instantly classic title and the "Free Ride" mode allows us to freely explore the city at our leisure, the perfect antithesis to the quarantine to which much of this 2020 has forced us.
Essentially it is empty of activities, with the exception of some exclusive remake quests: one of these, incredibly tough, will force us to chase a UFO around the city, but will reward us with a hilarious new skin, that ... of a real alien.

Sometimes objects or in-game skills can be incredibly ethereal, returning to the player a heavy dissonance between the in-game value and the importance that the object is instead able to express, on a material level or not.
Well, in Mortal Skill there are a lot of "useless" things that you will seem to pick up, but the interesting thing is that you will become more and more effective in using an item by dint of using that specific item. We come then to the lute. Yes, the lute: practicing with it 10 times you will go from unlistenable to divine. It is useless, mind you, but it is a curious detail.
