The demonstration, due to the containment rules of covid-19, changes name from BlizzCon to BlizzConline 2021 and will take place online on February 19th and 20th 2021 at 23pm CET. The announcement came directly from Blizzard who wanted to remember the concomitant anniversary for the 30th anniversary of the founding of the US house and the desire to maintain close ties with the strong community that has always distinguished it.
In this regard J. Allen Brack, president of Blizzard Entertainment, declined to comment on the announcement:
We can't let too much time go by without keeping in touch with our community, in true BlizzCon style, and this show is meant to be an opportunity to reunite with our friends around the world and celebrate the bonds and experiences we share through games. We are also delighted to be able to share the latest updates on the work of our teams with players. While it may not be the usual BlizzCon format, the fully online format is a unique opportunity to freshen up the show and create one specifically for the community watching from home.
The two days will be divided according to the following schedule:
February 19, 2021 23:00 pm CET opening ceremony with a first look at the latest game content in development while, during the next three hours of the event, players will be able to zap between the six different channels of insights each dedicated to a different title.
20 February 2021 at 21:00 CET will continue the broadcasts on the various channels until the grand finale while the studio will answer questions from supporters through Q&A sessions. There will also be an opportunity to pay tribute to the global community and participants in the classic cosplay exhibition.
Fans will be able to purchase ad hoc 30th anniversary packs packed with collectibles from the Battle.net store and find out more about BlizzConline 2021 via the official website. Of course all eyes are on Diablo IV and Overwatch 2, but it is possible to expect some surprises due to the important anniversary that falls this year.
