The only place you'll have a breather in the dangerous and bloody world of Dark Souls 3 is the Altar of the Binding. When you come here, you can go to the Shrine Handmaid to buy and sell items, using souls as a bargaining chip.

This particular vendor can be upgraded as the campaign progresses: by giving her collectibles called "ashes" it will be possible to unlock for the purchase of increasingly powerful and particular objects.

Ashes of the chief prisoner	Irithyll Prison	In the Prison of Irithyll you will find a handful of locked doors that will only open once you have recovered the Jailer's Key.
