The opening of Early Access for the Rogue-like of Red Hook Games has been announced for the third quarter of this year
As already done with the first Darkest Dungeon, it would appear that the second chapter will also debut with an Early Access. This is confirmed by the British edition of the magazine in June PC Gamer, which dedicates a special to the rogue-like of Red Hook Studios. The release date is not yet known, but according to the English newspaper, the game will be published on the Epic Games Store in early access by September.
PC Gamer also provides information on game content at launch: the early access version will contain the first of the five acts in which the story will be divided, which will travel the events following the ending of the first Darkest dungeon. The presence of nine playable classes, including the already known Jester, Leper, Highwayman, Man at Arms and Grave Robber.
A single run should last around 5 hours, but the difficulty level will be high and therefore it is likely that numerous attempts will be needed to complete it. As per tradition in rogue-like, progress made in one game will carry over to the next. It will therefore be possible for the player to unlock up to 11 skills for each class, although only 5 can be used in each game.
Unlike the previous chapter, in Darkest Dungeon 2 it will not be possible to increase the level of weapons and armor, it comes instead increased the importance of the trinkets available during the game, each of which will have unique effects.
