Days Gone is an incredibly large game, chock full of post-apocalyptic issues to tackle and solve.
You have to start with something, right?
The fields
Days Gone is certainly not crystal clear with regards to its "economic system" so, to clarify, each field has its own currency, the so-called "camp credits". These can only be spent in the field in which they were earned, clear information on each mission so you know who you are struggling for.
Each mission will also give us "confidence“, Parameter that will increase your fame with the merchants in the field, thus unlocking various upgrades for the bike and weapons. Consider that the grind for "trust" is much less tedious than the grind for credits, and basically there is no figure in the world that is worth a second of your time.
The Infestations
Often in your wandering on a motorcycle you will find yourself crossing some infestations of Freakers, areas that Deacon will want to clean up to make the streets safer. Aside from the obvious "social generosity," doing so will help unlock fast travel, which is appreciated in a game with so far to go.
Stamina
Occasionally you will find the so-called "injectors BLACK“, A means by which you can improve one of your 3 primary parameters: health, stamina, focus. Although it is obviously logical to develop everyone, we suggest you start with stamina, especially given the final stages of the game where you will find yourself running like the damned.
Melee
Days Gone gives you the ability to develop three different branches of the skill tree: melee, ranged, survival. We advise you to invest in the first part, considering that remaining silent in eliminating Freakers will allow you to act with more tranquility (ergo, lethality). In particular, try to develop the ability to repair your weapon with scrap right away.
Full tank, full pockets
Whenever you go back to a camp, do this: refuel the bike, repair it at the mechanic, go to the dealer and reload ammunition and suppressors. The mechanic can even retrieve the bike in case you have lost it at the bottom of a river or abandoned without petrol on a road.
Upgrade the bike when you can to increase its damage resistance and tank capacity.
Ambushes
Every now and then it will happen, sure as death and taxes, to be quiet quiet on your bike, and BAM! You find yourself undermined by your racing car, trapped in an ambush. Avoiding it is simple, so try to clear the fields from which these attacks can start: by doing so you will also have access to new weapons and a bunker that you can use for fast travel.
Not bad!
The road ... calls
You can find yourself in the field, sitting on your hands waiting for the next mission. Here's a secret: Days Gone unlocks new missions via radio calls you receive while riding your motorcycle.
Safe in the saddle
If you are in motion and without enemies around you can hold Triangle and perform a quick save.
Hand to volume
There are several audiologs that you can find around the game world, and it will be impossible not to be deafened, as they will come out of the speakers of your Dualshock at an absurd volume. Enter the appropriate menu and set it to the minimum, so that the audio is transferred to the TV or headphones.
In our review we defined Days Gone “a title that must be played, tasted and internalized as the first taste of a food unknown to us”.
