Doom Eternal will receive new content in 2021. This was communicated by the developer of the game, Id Software, who shared on Twitter a letter with plans for the game in 2021 and a heartfelt thanks to the players who have shown all their support in 2020.

The development team, which has been working from home for the past ten months, will be very busy in the near future. The next paid DLC will be released in 2021 and will be a continuation of The Ancient Gods. The Ancient Gods DLC introduces new mechanics and bosses to the game. The Ancient Gods - Part Two will conclude the demon slayer story that began in 2016 with DOOM. At the moment there is no official release date or price for this new package.
Doom Eternal will receive updates until 2021. First there will be an update for the next-gen. While the post does not specify what the update will include, it can be assumed that there will be framerate stabilization and resolution options for consoles on the list. However, the support for Ray-Tracing will not be immediate, so we cannot expect any kind of particular effect, unless a future confirmation from ID Software.
