The director explained that the release on Xbox as well as PC e Poppy su Steam, derives from Microsoft's desire to receive the title on consoles: «Our Xbox friends have spent years asking us to return to their consoles. This is why Football Manager 2019 and Football Manager 2020 have ended up on Xbox Game Pass and now Football Manager 2021 arrives on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. To be able to develop a video game on a specific console, you need of the development kit. The console owner must give it to you if interested. We contacted Sony to ask for a development kit and they didn't give us any devkits. We asked Microsoft the same thing and they sent them to us ».
