For a game with 3 years already on its shoulders, Horizon Zero Dawn certainly knows how to defend itself well in the sales sector. In fact, with the PC release, the latest product from Guerrilla has totaled total sales of about 700 thousand units. Although the launch itself had problems, mainly in the port affected by several graphic bugs, Guerrilla continued to patch and keep the community updated with streams. Perhaps this approach also contributes to a month of undoubted success for their title.
Sales of Horizon Zero Dawn over the course of the launch month are comparable to The Witcher 3, another very popular game on PC. To make some other comparison, it seems to have had more success than Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Death Stranding, going well beyond the 470 thousand copies of the latter. In short, an excellent result for this Sony experiment, which will surely be tempted to bring more to PC in the future.
