Are you pure completists and want to get all the trophies? In Resident Evil 7 there are really many, some require a certain amount of patience to be completed. So here's our guide to getting one in particular: Sweet Surprise.
After you get the Happy Birthday tape from the kids' room in the attic, go to Zoe's RV and insert it into the VCR. During the tape you will be given the chance to play as Clancy as she tries to solve a riddle that Lucas (Baker's eldest son) asked him to solve.
The goal of the puzzle is to place the lighted candle on the birthday cake, while making sure that the sprinklers do not turn it off along the way. To get the Sweet Surprise trophy, you will need to complete this puzzle in less than five minutes:
First, take the candle lit from the mannequin and approach the cake to hear Lucas mocking. Then move as suggested:
- Take the key from the large barrel, placed on the nearby table.
- Go back to the mannequin. Flush the toilet and retrieve the dirty telescope from inside it.
- Clean it up using the sprinklers inside the cake chamber.
- From the kitchen, use the clean telescope to watch the monitors in the front room. This way you will have access to a combination.
- Go back to the room with the cake and sprinklers and use the combination to open the small cabinet on the wall (Noose, Bird on Headstone and Fetus).
- Take the straw doll inside and go back to the kitchen. Burn it and you will get a Dummy Finger.
- Light the candle.
- With the candle lit, burn the rope that holds the door closed near where you used the telescope to watch the monitors.
- Take a balloon from the ground in the room.
- Use the balloon on the pipe that comes out in the kitchen. It will start to swell until it explodes, giving you a Goose Quill.
- Go back to the mannequin. Place the Dummy Finger in his hand, insert the Goose Quill and operate the key recovered from the barrel initially.
- The mannequin will write a password (LOSER) on Clancy's arm.
- Go back to the balloon room and use the password to open the door.
- From here, retrieve the knob.
- Use the knob on the pipes to the right of the sprinklers to close them.
- Re-light the candle and place it on the cake to finish the puzzle.
