LA Noire, Case 15 - "The set up"
As soon as you reach the investigation site, start by examining the second locker from the left: especially check the note on the block that you will find inside the locker. Turn around 180 degrees and, on one of the benches, you can collect one of the eighth of the collectible newspapers scattered around the game.
Use the phone and go to the next destination, the El Mar hotel. Here you will have to look at the register: select Winston Churchill's name. Go to the corresponding address and enter the room (it's number 207). Examine the overturned trash can for the Western Union receipt, then check the box of chocolates and the piece of note on the chest of drawers to the right next to the lamp. Now you just have to examine the newspaper on the table to your right (swipe your finger to the lower right corner of the second page to write down the address) and the handwritten note that you will find on the bedside table.
Now go to Motel Aleve and talk to the receptionist to figure out in which room to continue the investigation. Get ready to fight, and once you've won the match, check your opponent's pockets for more clues about the case (a notepad and a switchblade). Finally, check the postcard and the card on the chest of drawers. Now you can question Candy Edwards:
- Claim 1: FALSE (the proof is the coupon found in the newspaper)
- Claim 2: FALSE (the proof is the predictions of the bookmakers)
- Statement 3: DOUBT
A stealth session will follow during which you will have to follow the woman without being seen. to do this, use the numerous interactive objects that you will find along the way, staying at a safe distance and taking care to hide behind the fences and walls when you have the opportunity.
Once you enter the liquor store, blacken the notepad next to the phone with a pencil to find out the message, then continue to the next shop, where the owner will tell you again to check the phone: you will find a business card, another track to follow. Use the phone and talk to the shop owner again for more information, then drive to the next destination (you will also see a short cutscene during the trip).
In the next scene, hide with the newspaper and check the woman's movements: when you can get up, go to the room where you saw her enter and examine the gun (interact to also check the magazine) and the handbag, inside which you will find a ticket torn of the Egyptian theater.
Once you reach the theater, cross it and go to the back. Go right and go through the red fire door to face an action scene that will take you directly to the end of the case.
