Sparc: battles with balls, steel balls, futuristic setting and full body virtual reality. The conditions are all there and the game's GCC Games is all this, an interesting corner of the world of our helmets where you can throw yourself at steel balls without getting hurt, a kind of prisoner ball on PlayStation 4 e PC, If we want.

Sparc - PlayStation VR Review

Just started the game GCC Games, we will face a Tutorial really well done, which charges us with expectations by showing us, in essence, all the aspects of this title, but at the same time we also notice the first limit of Sparc: a viewer is not enough to play, you also need 2 PlayStation Move that although they greatly improve the virtual reality experience, they are not mandatory for the vast majority of titles on the market. They will be decisive for the game, as they will help our PlayStation Camera not only to detect the position and movement of our arms, but also to "hypothesize" the movement of the torso, which will be an integral part of the game.

Another positive aspect of the GCC Games title is the very nice character creation and customization menu in every aspect, we can obviously choose the sex of our alter-ego and then select one of the many hairstyles available, move on to the dress, the colors, the mask, and finally we can even choose the style and colors of the viewer worn.

Sparc - PlayStation VR Review

Before throwing it online against other players (the true essence of Sparc) we decide to try our hand at the great series of fun challenges available that allows us to become familiar with the physics of the game and makes it all seem like a successful job.

We will thus find ourselves catapulted into the corridor that represents the arena of our battles to study the throwing effects, the dynamics of rejecting the opposing ball and dodging, we immediately realize that the promise of a full-body game is fully fulfilled: play while seated it is almost impossible despite the possibility of adjusting the height of the floor which will determine the position of our body within the game.

The physics is respected in a truly realistic way: the ball picks up speed with each push back and, behind our target we will find a vertical circular area that if centered in full force will give us a strike, which accumulated to others will increase our shooting power. . Unfortunately, once face to face with another player, this happens very rarely because we will inexorably find ourselves in one of the many dead times caused by the fact that we aim to stop the ball and then re-throw it at a later time. This happens because there are no games with AI that allow the player to practice smooth and continuous play, and this is one of Sparc's biggest flaws: in the long run it makes the game boring and repetitive leading the player to go for a coffee waiting for the game to take a while of panache.

Another negative aspect of the GCC Games title is the management of online lobbies: yes, they are divided by category starting from those for beginners, but there is no type of "control" on access, and we will often find experienced players playing in lobbies for beginners, which makes the game heartbreaking especially for newbies who, disheartened by too many losses, would risk leaving the game after a couple of hours.

Sparc - PlayStation VR Review

Il technical sector, as already mentioned in the previous paragraph, unlike the gameplay, it turns out very nice and successful: the framerate is almost always constant, the game physics are precise as well as the motion detection, the high-level sound effects are perfectly synchronized with the animations in the game and, above all with the physics, changing according to the material with which the ball hits, which may be taken for granted, but you have to look for the positive side of things.

Sparc - PlayStation VR Review

Sparc promises to be a good sports game in full body virtual reality, with quick games, full of action and very dynamic, but to realize that, once things are done, it is only a good starting point for the future, on which GCC Games can work to improve the dynamics of the game, while leaving intact the good technical sector inherent in this title.
