During the Tokyo Game Show, Bandai Namco dedicated an event to Tales of Arise, occasion in which he was able to show a new trailer. The protagonists of the video are Alphen and Shionne, two characters already known to the public, to which a third one shrouded in mystery is added.
During the event some information about the game world and its inhabitants was released. Astral energy is mentioned: a power that resides in all living beings. Renans can use this energy to cast spells called Astral Artes.
Alphen's fire sword is generated from this energy and only he can wield it; feeling no pain, he can use the sword, which otherwise would burn its owner.
Development of Tales of Arise began immediately after the announcement of the final edition of Tales of Vesperia; the release is scheduled for 2020 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
