Bandai Namco and Supermassive Games have announced The Dark Pictures: House of Ashes, the new chapter of the The Dark Pictures Anthology. The game will be released in 2021. The announcement of the title is accompanied by a trailer:
The new chapter of the saga is set in Iraq in 2003. As the conflict draws to a close, CIA agent Rachel King participates in a special forces mission. The target appears to be an alleged underground chemical weapons facility on the slopes of the Zagros Mountains. Arriving at the indicated coordinates, the unit is ambushed by a local patrol led by Sergeant Salim Othman.
During the battle, a violent earthquake opens chasms under the feet of both units. Meanwhile, in the desert, an evil entity awakens. As survivors struggle not to succumb, they will have to face their fears and make difficult decisions.
The Dark Pictures: House of Ashes will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC.
