Bloober Team's The Medium is looming as a increasingly ambitious title, also thanks to its mechanics with a very interesting potential: the protagonist, in fact, can switch the world at certain points in the game, from the real to the spiritual.
Recently the team, the producer to be precise Jacek Zieba, spoke to the virtual microphones of GamingBolt and one of the things that made it clear was the length of the title, which will settle on 8-10 hours.
The leitmotif of the game is dualism, providing different points of view on what happens, on the events of the story, even on the ending itself. The Medium will not provide players with its characteristic "double gameplay" for its entire duration, but for about a third of the adventure, while the rest of the story will find its stable place in the real or spiritual world. This serves to insinuate doubt in the player, who must understand what reality he is in and who is thus pushed to make the most of the reality in which he is.
Zieba then told how this one gameplay duality both at the complete service of the story, rather than the gameplay and atmosphere, to which it ends up contributing heavily.
In one world the player can feel safe, but he must remember that he is perpetually in two contemporary worlds, so who knows what awaits him around the next corner?
The declared inspirations of The Medium are Silent Hill and Resident Evil, which have a powerful influence on the DNA of the Bloober Team title itself, both in terms of atmosphere and in terms of the game camera, the latter fixed for the first time in a team title.
