How to survive in the Dark Zone
From the very first steps that you will move in Manhattan it will be impossible for you not to notice, in the center of the map, a large red area called: Dark Zone. This agglomeration of sectors of the city is the point where the virus that hit NY is most powerful and concentrated, but also the place where the game enters its most lively part.
Dangers around every corner, contaminated areas and very powerful equipment scattered on the streets. Are you ready for all of this? If the answer is no, follow our Dark Zone survival guide.
What is the Dark Zone?
As you know, the population of New York City has been decimated by the dollar virus. The whole city, but especially Manhattan, is overflowing with contaminated and quarantined zones, but none of them is as large as the Dark Zone. This collection of sectors is said to be the point where a powerful bacteriological weapon crashed, making it very dangerous, but also rich in resources.
How do you enter the Dark Zone?
The JTS was obviously not immobile and immediately erected walls to block access to this contaminated area. The only main entrances are in fact checkpoints heavily guarded by the task force itself.
The criminals themselves, however, have not been idle, but have weakened some parts of the barricade, creating secondary accesses, which can also be used by us.
Both routes are visible on the map as purple dots. Choose the access area well. Pass by bypassing only if strictly necessary. Going through the checkpoints will guarantee you a small refuge where you can stock up on medkits and ammunition.
Why enter it?
Accessing this area is very dangerous and if you are not at the right level it will be practically impossible to survive. The enemies will be quite strong and in addition the other players will be able to kill you at any time, making you lose all the loot acquired up to that moment. But is it worth entering the Dark Zone? Of course yes. The amount of rare loot is indescribable and more fun is guaranteed.
Bottino
The equipment you will find in the Dark Zone will be very strong and rare, but also infected. In fact, you won't be able to take him into town by walking normally, but you will have to have him transported away by a helicopter.
To do this, just go to one of the many extraction points and fire a signal rocket, which will send a helicopter to your area as soon as possible. Within two minutes, help will reach you and we assure you that it will be the longest two minutes of your life. By firing the rocket, you will alarm all enemies nearby and in addition the extraction area will shine on the map of all nearby players. All this will then expose you to many threats, it is up to you to survive and take home the bread.
Once extracted, the objects will be available in the chest in each shelter.
Traitors
By killing other players you will be marked as traitors and a bounty will be placed on your head, plus your Dark Zone rank will drop faster if you are marked as such. By killing the other agents in the division, however, you can grab their loot and build a fortune in no time.
Keys to the Dark Zone
A probable enemy drop are the Dark Zone Keys (also obtainable in the Ubisoft Club). These particular keys will be useful to open chests scattered throughout the Dark Zone.
