In a long article appeared on the well-known website of Bloomberg, the videogame journalist Takahashi Mochizuki asserts that the Redmond house would be willing to expand its sphere of interest in the Japanese market. To do so, the company would be taking steps to look for studios based in Japan to welcome into the Xbox Game Studios family.

“There is evidence that Microsoft is trying to make acquisitions in the country,” writes Mochizuki, “even if a deal with a big name has not yet been reached. Several Japan-based developers, both small and large, have reported being approached with purchase proposals. They asked not to be mentioned as the negotiations were private, and they refused to offer details on how the discussions were conducted ”.

The Bloomberg publisher then wanted to investigate the matter by interviewing Jeremy Hinton, head of operations conducted by Xbox in Asia. The spokesperson did not disclose precise details, while stressing that Microsoft is "always open to discussion" with developers and that "acquisitions are a possibility", but for now there is no information to share on the matter.
