Yakuza: Like a Dragon - How to unlock jobs

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio's new title, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, changes its approach from previous chapters of the saga. In fact, it leaves its proverbial action-based combat system to get to the style of a more strategic turn-based RPG. This new style of play, however, also involves changes to the progression system.

In fact, in Yakuza: Like a Dragon the player has several jobs (or classes) available that can be assigned to each individual character.

Players can change the jobs assigned to a certain character at the Hello Work work center. To access it, however, it is necessary to advance in history. At a certain point in the story mode, you can talk to Ririka at the reception to change jobs. Keep in mind that to change jobs you have to go to the Hello Work center every time. It is advisable to change jobs before important parts of the story, as low-level jobs or an unreasonable team composition could interrupt meetings with bosses.

Not all jobs will be available immediately when a member joins the team. In the following guide we will list all the requirements to unlock all the jobs of the team characters. Beware that the guide contains some spoilers, since even the secret works will be explained.

    • Freelancer - Level 1+ (this is Ichiban's default job, so you can access it at any time)

The bond can be strengthened by doing extra activities with the team member. Anything from eating in a restaurant to taking him into combat. Be sure to get the conversation started at the Survive Bar to unlock their Bond once possible. If you don't do it in time, you will waste valuable Bond points to unlock jobs faster.
