In the guide below we compare the 9x39mm ammunition of Escape From Tarkov, title developed by Pavel Dyatlov and available for now only in beta for PC.
This caliber is used by the two marksman rifles VSS Vintorez and AS VAL.
- 9× 39mm 7N12 BP. They deal damage of 60 and have armor penetration power of 50. They can be traded from Prapor or crafted through the level 3 work table.
- 9× 39mm SPP. They deal 67 damage and have 45 armor penetration power. You can trade them at Prapor.
- 9× 39mm SP-6. They deal 58 damage and have 43 armor penetration power. You can buy them from Prapor after reaching the third level of loyalty with him.
- 9x39mm SP-5. They deal 68 damage and have an armor penetration power of 35. You can buy them from Parpor after reaching the second level of loyalty with him.

Don't be fooled by the high damage of the SP-5s. Their low armor penetration power makes them the worst. The best are definitely the BPs. Please note that this guide refers to version 0.12.5 of the game, and that it may be overtaken by any changes made by subsequent updates.
Escape From Tarkov is currently available for PC, and is still in beta. It is possible to buy it only on the official website, thus accessing it already from the beta version. Developer Pavel Dyatlov said it will only be available on Steam after full release, with the idea of bringing it to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well.
