Fire Emblem: Three Houses: recruitable characters guide

As we now know, in Fire Emblem: Three Houses we will have to choose one of the three houses available to which to dedicate our teachings and our guide. The choice may not be so simple, however, perhaps also because in the other classes there are characters that you would have wanted in your team anyway.

As already mentioned in our Fire Emblem: Three Houses review, Intelligent Systems has nevertheless included the possibility of recruit pupils from other classes. To do this, all you have to do is… ask them, talking to them in person in the Monastery of Garreg Mach. But getting them to their side won't be that easy, as each of them must be impressed with the abilities of the protagonist Byleth to decide to move into his class.

In particular, each character to be convinced requires that Byleth has developed a particular parameter and a specific skill. For example, Ingrid appreciates the DES parameter and Flight proficiency. The determining factors for the recruitment of the characters of the classes are therefore three:

    • The level of a given parameter.
    • The degree of a Expertise.
    • The degree of Support with that character.

As a standard norm a pupil can be recruited if the required Byleth parameter he is interested in is at least 15, the degree of Competence at least at C and also the degree of Support at C.

This is not an absolute constant: some students may be more demanding and require a higher parameter or a greater competence. In general, however, the degree of Support can "alleviate" the instances in the other two fields, so for example with a B-grade Support it will be easier to recruit a character even without having the specific C-competence. In Fire Emblem: Three Houses there is an equation that is not standard and fixed for everyone, so if even all the minimum requirements seem to be in place and the character is not convinced to pass in your class, try offering him a gift or a lost item, or even with one of the many ways to increase support points.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses: recruitable characters guide

We specify that it is not possible to recruit the leaders of the rival classes, nor their right arms. So if you have chosen a different house you will not be able to recruit in any way:

    • black Eagle: Edelgard and Hubert.
    • Blue Lion: Dimitri and Dedue.
    • Golden Deer: Claude.

Hilda she should represent Claude's right arm, and in fact speaking to her the options for offering gifts or lost items are not available, nor the option to ask her to recruit her, and therefore the parameter and the Competence she appreciates are not visible. In reality, you can recruit it, and it would seem that you appreciate the parameter of Charisma and the competence of Ax, and above all it is necessary to increase the degree of Support through alternative ways such as inviting her for tea (the only option you can select by talking to us), inviting her to the Choir or to meals in the Refectory. However, he will not be recruitable if the Black Eagles and the Edelgard path have been chosen; if you choose the path of the Church it will be possible to recruit her in the third month of the year.
