Guide to the Honor system in Red Dead Online

Red Dead Online can easily be considered a game in its own right compared to Red Dead Redemption 2. This means that even after completing the very long main campaign of the title, you still need a guide to help you understand how to behave online. So here are some tips regarding the online component's Honor system.

Guide to the Honor system in Red Dead Online

Honor is already present in the main title, so it is also re-proposed on Red Dead Online. Its management is not very different from that of the single player campaign, here are some useful tips:

    • Honor signals your moral progress
    • Honor determines the missions you will receive (a positive trend will make you receive protection missions while a negative trend will yield missions with attached robberies)
    • Having a highly negative reputation will automatically make you a wanted one: this can play to your disadvantage as other players can hunt you down to collect the reward
    • You can check your amount of honor points from the menu by going to "Player" -> "General" -> "Statistics".

To reset your honor you have to go to old Jones in Armadillo. Paying it with 3 gold bars will get your Honor at the initial setting.

Even horses, like honor, have similar functionalities to those of the "main" game: you can buy them at the stables, as well as sell them permanently (by going to "Horse Management"). Horses can also be insured, always at the stables. The first time it will be free but from the second you will have to pay your dollars: insuring a horse means that it will never die permanently and will be brought "back to life" after every fatal accident.

Last but not least advice is to set the horse as "Private" to prevent other players from stealing it.
