Dead By Daylight is a survival horror that pits survivors and hunters against each other. The first will have to escape the killer, as a group, who will have various elements of help to hunt and kill them. Survivors will then have to try to escape his clutches.
Here are some useful tips to apply when you take on the role of the killer, to hunt survivors properly:
- Always look around carefully, especially if crows appear: they will indicate the position of a survivor who has remained stationary or on the ground for too long
- If you managed to injure a survivor who escaped you then look for the traces of blood: they will take you to his last position as long as he has not healed
- Use Charged Attacks against Survivors while attempting to leap over a window: you will gain ground and action time
- Do not always chase survivors at breakneck speed: knowing the map well you can take shortcuts, without losing sight of their tracks, to catch them off guard
- If in a chase you have lost your prey, listen: in case they ran you can hear their breathlessness or, if they are injured, their painful moans
- If you notice that a chase goes on too long, forget it: focus on the other survivors or you will risk wasting too much time
- In case you catch the penultimate survivor, don't go and hang it immediately on the hooks: doing so will open the hatch, providing an easy escape route to the last one left
- Don't waste time surveying all the generators: focus on the last one, closest to the hatch
- If you can hit the survivors with your weapon at the maximum distance allowed, you won't have to wait for the cooldown to expire to use it again
