After the release of Monster Hunter World for consoles on January 26 this year (which has already been reviewed here) finally this title was also released in its version for PC.

Monster Hunter World was immediately so staggering that it surpassed the quota of 8,3 million digital copies downloaded for consoles, and within hours of the PC release it had about 236.644 players logged in at the same time (the largest record of a title launched on Steam in 2018) and is also the title that for the same platform has sold the most in Japan.

The reason for all this success is the continuity of the saga, with the fifth chapter of Monster Hunter for veterans, but also the possibility for players who are approaching the title for the first time to be able to quickly understand the basic mechanics of the game. With an introduction that lets you immediately imagine what difficulties you will have to expect during your adventures, the title shows some of its beautiful landscapes highlighting all the efforts and hard work of the development team.

Other elements that make us understand how much Capcom cares about this title are for example the various events that are released in order to propose new challenges to all hunters. For example, the event in collaboration with Final Fantasy XIV in which you have to defeat the Behemoth (you can find the guide here).

With a truly engaging storyline, Monster Hunter manages to amaze everyone, considering that the purpose of the game is to hunt monsters: however, the story is only an outline compared to what the title offers us during the countless hours of play.

In fact, we will be continually busy with secondary missions, from researching materials for Astera scientists, to fishing or even from expeditions to build camps. In addition we can venture into expeditions in search of new elements with the aim of increasing the characteristics of our weapons and armor.

Capcom in this title has dedicated itself above all to newbies to the game by modifying some game mechanics in order to allow everyone to understand more quickly some concepts that, for those who have never approached the genre, can be difficult.

For example the forge of weapons presents a very intuitive scheme showing the various improvements that a weapon can have. If the final result does not meet expectations, you can go back one step and get back the materials used.

Another strong point of Monster Hunter World is the Multiplayer, with which even the most difficult and boring missions will be completed in the best way. The first fundamental aspect of this mode is the possibility of creating or joining a team in order to create a private hunting club., whose sessions are visible only to members who are part of it. Furthermore, the new “drop-in” function comes to the rescue of the unfortunate who will find themselves alone after starting a quest in Multiplayer.

Trying to make the concept clearer, you just need to know that in the past a simple network mistake by another player could leave you alone in a rather difficult mission. Thanks to the drop-in, a hunter could join your game session even while you are already engaged in a hunt and if no one shows his will you can always launch an SOS rocket, which will communicate a request for help to all connected users.

All these aspects of the game that already alone have strengths for Monster Hunter World are enclosed in an excellent audio and video quality. The dubbing of each character is well cared for and for the first time in the saga it is also present in Spanish.

The videos that are shown during the gameplay help the player to relax and get a little distracted before or after a mission, especially when we go to the forge or the canteen.
