During one of the first missions in the history of Watch Dogs Legion you are asked to photograph the evidence, although in reality the game does not explicitly explain how to take pictures. You can take photos at any time in Ubisoft's latest title, including selfies of your character, by pressing both analog sticks on the controller or by pressing the 9 button on PC. However when photographic evidence needs to be collected, you may be called upon to do something completely different.
For example, when you are assigned the task of photographing evidence to make some neighborhoods rebellious (such as the City), the game does not explain how to proceed. If you cannot access the affected area on foot to take a photo with the specific mode, then you will need an alternative method.
In this case, to take pictures of various tests in Watch Dogs Legion, you will essentially have to reach the area of operational interest with a news-drone. Do it fly inside the building or in the designated area marked on the map, then at the appropriate time you will be notified to proceed with the shot. Once done, don't worry if you lose your device trying to get it back, as DedSec will be able to remotely download the necessary proof.
Handling a drone to take photos will also be necessary to enter King's Cross station, along with other propaganda missions, so it is useful to familiarize yourself with this mode immediately. If you can't find a news drone around to hack, try doing something unusual on the street, like punching someone at random or crashing a car. One should appear quickly for you to promptly tamper with as you please.
