Amazon Luna: the new cloud gaming system!

Amazon Luna: the new cloud gaming system!

In a totally unexpected way, Amazon presents us with a new cloud gaming system called Luna. The announcement comes from the Keynote organized today by Amazon itself, during which the confirmation that this new service will be available starting today in America also arrives. As in the case of xCloud and Google Stadia it will be possible to use Luna on different platforms, i.e. PC, Mac, Fire TV, iPad, iPhone and, subsequently, on other Android smartphones and tablets. The subscription will also allow you to play simultaneously on two devices at a resolution of 1080p (with 4K coming soon on some selected titles) and 60fps.

The subscription was launched at the "promotional price" of $ 5.99 per month, while a precise price, or release date, for Europe has not yet been defined. (although we probably won't have to wait that long). However, we currently know that subscribers to the Amazon Luna service will be able to play more than 100 selected titles including Control, Resident Evil 7, The Surge 2, Panzer Dragoon, A Plague Tale: Innocence, GRID and RIME. In addition An optional dedicated controller has been made available, priced at $ 49.99, with a peculiarity: it is able to connect directly to Amazon's servers, guaranteeing a reduction in latency from 17 to 30 milliseconds (but it will still be possible to play Luna with DualShock 4, Xbox controller or mouse and keyboard).

In conclusion, the announcement shows a partnership declaration in the near future between Ubisoft and Amazon Luna. Thanks to Luna it will be possible to play all the new titles released by Ubisoft, from the day of the launch, at no cost. We will therefore have the possibility to play titles like Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6 and Immortals: Fenyx Rising right away on the platforms accepted by Luna, all while also gaining access to the expansions released over time. It is therefore an extremely important announcement from many points of view, especially considering how much the world of cloud gaming has been developing in the last period, but even if we think the integration that Amazon will be able to give with Twitch Prime.
