God of War: next-gen patch at the top

God of War received his definitive next-gen patch for PlayStation 5 and, similarly to what has already been seen with Days Gone and Ghost of Tsushima, it opens the doors to one 60 frames per second experience which provides a truly transformative impact. The original last-gen version was already impressive in itself: 4K graphics, extreme details, lighting and excellent performance, so much so that you often pushed hard on the accelerator… of the cooling fans. Digital Foundry has as usual analyzed thoroughly the latest patch 1.35, which brings the direct 30 and 60 fps modes.

The 4K and 1080p modes of the old Pro version (aimed at a variable target between 30 fps and 60 fps) have disappeared, replaced with direct modes that take advantage of the 2160p checkerboard rendering. The result is that God of War is fundamentally flawless and presented under a guise that truly represents an experience not to be missed. In almost 2h of gameplay very few frames fall below the fixed limit of 60fps (and not even in a game sequence).

God of War on PS5 in this next-gen patch guarantees more enjoyable gameplay, if only because a story that tells of deep parenting (and pain of loss), takes place at least without the unwanted effects of turbo-fans under stress. Of course, there remain the fantastic environments, the gigantic beasts, the visceral and ultraviolent fighting and, of course, the state of the art of 3d gaming made in Santa Monica Studios.

Recall that God of War is included in the PlayStation Plus Collection, a series of games that PS5 owners receive as an extra bonus when they sign up for the PS Plus subscription service. Revisiting the title on PlayStation 5 is absolutely a must for anyone who hasn't played it on PS4, and while it represents a simple improvement in graphics performance, it sets the stage wonderfully for the sequel, apparently slated for late 2021 - early 2022. Ragnarok will all be designed. around the new hardware and prospects are really mouth watering.
