Halo Infinite: the future and development is complicated

According to a recent Bloomberg report, 343 Industries' Studio Head of FPS Development, Chris Lee, he resigned from the company. These resignations are a long way from the launch of Halo Infinite and raise doubts about the game's development roadmap.

"I have retired from Halo Infinite and am looking at future opportunities," Lee said in a statement to Bloomberg. "I believe in the team and I am confident that he will do a great job, it is the right time to leave". According to a statement emailed to Bloomberg, Lee is still working with Microsoft, but not on Halo Infinite.

Chris Lee's departure is a big surprise, but it's not the first time that key figures from 343 Industries have left the studio during the Halo Infinite development cycle. The Creative Director Tim Longo, he left in 2019, and the Lead Producer Mary Olson she left shortly after. Joseph Staten recently signed on as Project Lead to handle the game's distribution and advertising campaign. Pierre Hintze was called in to help create the multiplayer mode.

Considering this news came just around the time Halo Infinite would likely hit shelves as a launch title for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S had it not been delayed, many are concerned about what's going on behind the scenes. Hopefully, this change is best for everyone involved and for the development of Halo Infinite.

Halo Infinite is expected to launch in 2021 on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, the Xbox One family of consoles and Windows 10 PCs.
