Fortnite won't be returning to the App Store anytime soon. Judge Yvonne Gonzales Rogers refused to grant Epic Games Store a preliminary injunction against Apple, which would force developers to re-establish Fornite on the App Store. Simultaneously, an injunction has been granted preventing Apple from blocking the Unreal Engine.

Epic therefore during the trial cannot distribute his famous game on the store, unless the same company removes its own app purchases that gave rise to the dispute with Apple. The judge stated:

"Epic Games and Apple are free to argue over the future of digital, but their dispute shouldn't cause any inconvenience to users."

During September, companies such as Epic, Spotify, Tile, and Match Group created the coalition for app equity, which will try to "defend the fundamental rights of creators dedicated to building apps and doing business directly with their customers".
