Monster Hunter Stories 2: new details from Capcom

Presented during the last Nintendo Direct Mini Partner Showcase, Monster Hunter Stories 2 Wings of Ruin promises to transport players on a fantastic new adventure exclusively for Nintendo Switch. While Monster Hunter Rise seems to come closer to the palates of Monster Hunter World and hunters Iceborne, this is proposed as a spin-off of the series focused on the narrative component, following the homonymous title released in 2016 for Nintendo 3DS. Although we have not yet seen any remnants of gameplay, new details on the production have arrived in the past few hours.

The manufacturer Ryozo Tsujimoto has granted various interviews to several industry portals, through which clues and information about the game have emerged. Speaking of its direct predecessor, it seems that the developers have started from that same combat system, modifying it and evolving it with potentially more intriguing elements. It seems confirmed the return of PvP mechanics (player versus player) but in this regard, the spokesman of the Japanese company preferred not to unbutton himself too much, promising to investigate the matter in a forthcoming appointment.

The concept of Monster Hunter Stories, as mentioned at the beginning, differs from the other chapters, yet its success has been such as to convince the publisher to invest in a direct following. This was confirmed by Tsujimoto, who spoke of very positive feedback that prompted him to embark on this new challenge. While focusing on the plot, Monster Hunter Stories 2 will not fail to entertain fans with a playful sector in line with the canons of the series and, in this regard, it is curious that the author refers to it as an RPG and not an action game.

One of their goals is in fact to target a wider and more varied audience than in previous years. Monster Hunter Stories 2 will be released around the summer of 2021, but the hunting season will open a few months earlier, when Monster Hunter Rise will arrive on the Nintendo Switch on March 26 next year.
