Resident Evil 2 Remake: Key Guide

Resident Evil 2 Remake: Key Guide

Well yes, given the events there Raccoon City Police Station in Resident Evil 2 Remake it certainly can't be classified as a quiet place to work and, considering all the closed doors that hide rooms full of macabre secrets, even as a museum it must not have been much. In fact, wandering around the station and trying not to become someone's lunch or dinner, Leon and Claire they will come across many doors that can only be opened with certain keys, that is Key of Spades, Key of Diamonds, Key of Hearts and Key of Clubs. Two keys, Spades and Diamonds, can be found by both characters while the Key of Flowers (which looks more like a Clover) can only be found by Leon and the Key of Hearts only by Claire. So depending on the character you will use you will find a different key.

In this Resident Evil 2 Remake guide we will show you the location of all the Keys inside the Raccoon City Police Station.

Key of Spades - Leon / Claire

In Resident Evil 2 Remake the Key of Spades will most likely be the first one you will come across inside the Police Station, that is on the west side of the main hall. The journey to retrieve the key eventually leads to the west office where you will find Leon's desk, so it will be one of the first main journeys you will make inside the Station.

The Key of Spades can therefore be found by simply proceeding through the main campaign and therefore you will not have to puzzle to search in some narrow and well hidden cave. In any case to reach the key first explore the east corridor by going through the gate which is southeast of the main hall, easily recognizable by the sign posted with the words “Keep Out”. A warning that obviously no player took seriously!

Once back in the main hall from the east corridor use your combat knife to open the electrical panel on the west side of the room. Then go through the reception, take the corridor to the other side and go through the broken window of the operations room. At this point you will find yourself between the weapons security depot and the west office. Proceed north to reach the darkroom. Right next to the latter there is a staircase upwards, take it and reach the 3F floor. Once you get to the top, turn right and you will find yourself in a room with a desk and a lamp. On this desk, next to a statuette, you will find the Key of Spades.

Key of Diamonds - Leon / Claire

In the Police Station in Resident Evil 2 Remake there are several doors that must be opened with the Key of Diamonds, but first of all you will have to find the three medallions and go through the statue of the goddess in the main hall.

Once you reach the garage and watch the cutscene, head into the vast area of the Station basement, where the shooting range and the kennel are located. On the other side of the latter is the morgue and that's where you'll need to head to find the next key.

Once inside the morgue, with all its horrors in tow, you will notice some wall compartments to contain, of course, the corpses. At this point you will have to open and extract the second stretcher from the left which is on the north side of the room: strictly above a corpse you will find the Key. Not far away you can also pick up a note explaining how the poor guy ended up in there: it seems that he stole the key, the one we took from him, while he was being held in custody inside the station.

Key of Flowers (Clover) - Leon

As already mentioned, in Resident Evil 2 Remake the Key of Clubs can only be found by Leon, which is not only essential to proceed with the main campaign, but will also allow you to get your hands on the Magnum.

The Flower Key is located in the boiler room north of the Police Station. To reach it you will need to use the crank in the east corridor on floor 2F to reach the chief's office. Take the stairs next to it, then cross the balcony and go down the stairs to the roof. At this point, head north and go down another staircase to reach the back alley: in front of you you will find the boiler room.. When you get close to the door some zombies will take it down from the inside, so be careful; the ideal is to lure them out and take them down. Enter the boiler room and reach the back side room where you finally get you can collect the Key of Flowers posted on the board.

    Key of Hearts - Claire

Our Miss Redfield is the only one who can find and collect the Key of Hearts in Resident Evil 2 Remake, by the way very easy to miss during gameplay. Once you reach the boss's office, after the Station basement cutscene, head south to reach the private collection room. Walk around the shelves to the end of the room and you will notice a table with a frame and an owl.

Collect the framed picture (this is the "Lover's Relief") and examine it. At this point turn it and you'll be able to extract the Key of Hearts from the back of the frame.

After collecting it you will have practically free access to all the meanders of the Raccoon City Police Station and you can therefore explore it freely. I mean, freely apart from the zombies who want to turn you into their meal, the lickers on the walls and that particularly big, hat-wearing gray guy chasing you!
