The Star Citizen developer, Cloud Imperium, has released a new update on the progress of the Squadron 42 single player campaign.

If you are eager to get your hands on the Squadron 42 single player campaign you will unfortunately be disappointed. Director Chris Roberts in fact, he stated that Squadron 42 itself is far from complete.

Squadron 42 will be postponed to a later date

“[…] I've decided it's best not to publicly show Squadron 42 gameplay, nor discuss any release dates until we're closer to the finish line. We are confident that we will be able to complete the game in the time we have left. "

In July 2020, the studio released a preview of a mock-up of a work-in-progress roadmap for Squadron 42, in which it was revealed that the beta phase was to be launched in the second quarter of 2020. Of course, that wasn't the case. In fact, in October 2020, it was again declared that there was still no release date.

Now, with this update, the developer seems to reiterate the fact that the title is nowhere near completion, even though it was announced years ago now.

Many players are eager to see the title in action, especially thanks to its star-studded A-list cast that it includes Gary Oldman, Gillian Anderson, Andy Serkis and more.

Squadron 42 was originally slated for release in 2016. We don't even have a faint hint of when it will launch now on PC or Console.
