Nintendo has released a new free downloadable update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, version 10.1.0, which adds the “Challenger Pack 8: Sephiroth” DLC on Nintendo Switch.
The new update, which adds Sephiroth to the roster of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, makes the following characters selectable in the Vault Shop menu:
- Cheer.
- Barret.
- Aerith.
- Red XIII.
- Cid.
- Cait Sith.
- Yuffie.
- Vincent.
- The Turks & Rufus Shinra.
- Bahamut ZERO.
- Chocobo & Moogle.
- Shiva.
- Ifrit.
Additionally, a different Final Fantasy-themed Cloud artwork is added. Regarding the outfits, the update introduces the alternate costume for Barret, Tifa, Aerith, Chocobo and Geno.
From the changelog:
- You cannot make replay videos that contain DLC that you have not purchased (fighters, levels, music, Mii Warrior costumes, etc.).
- You can now switch between “Random from all songs” to “Random from My Music” for the Battlefield, Small Battlefield, Big Battlefield and Final Destination stages. To toggle between options, access My Music via Options or Vault and then press the X button).
- Final Smash for Cloud's 2P, 4P, 6P, and 8P color variants has been changed in Omnislash Ver. 5. (It essentially works like a regular Omnislash).
- Game balance changes have been made.
- Several issues have been fixed to improve the game experience.
Nintendo specifies that a Nintendo Switch Online subscription is required to use the online features.
