The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series - Complete Walkthrough - Episode 2: Starved for Help

The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series - Complete Walkthrough - Episode 2: Starved for Help

The episode starts with Lee meeting a zombie: use the ax to get rid of it, then continue with your adventure partner (a certain Mark) to look for food nearby (Lee and Mark are hunting). In the dialogue that follows, you can choose whether to take the side of Kenny or not, and above all you can choose whether to say something about your quarrelsome with Larry or not to make any comments. When Mark points out the bird in the tree you can choose to behave in three different ways: stop him from shooting, let him decide whether to shoot or not, encourage him to shoot. Whichever option you choose, Mark will shoot and miss, while a sudden scream will draw your attention elsewhere in the forest: a short distance away you will find a group of students (Ben, Paul and Travis) with their teacher David, who has a leg trapped. in a trap. Of course, after a few seconds zombies will start approaching.

KEY CHOICE: to free David you will have to cut his leg, otherwise you will only waste time trying to break the trap unnecessarily with all the interactive objects (including ax) nearby. If you don't cut his leg David will die torn apart by the undead. If you mutilate him (it will take four well-aimed ax blows), Ben and Paul will help him escape by carrying him on their backs, while Travis will stumble on a rock while escaping and will still be killed. Also keep in mind that if you don't save David, Travis will panic and collide with Paul, who will fire a shot from the gun and injure the boy. In this case, Lee and Mark will return to base, plus Ben and Paul who will carry the injured Travis on their shoulders.

    Chapter 2: the motel

The group will return to the motel: you will discover that there has been a time balance of three months between the end of the first episode of the series and the events you are witnessing. Meanwhile, the group has settled at the motel and fortified it, making it (apparently) safe from undead attacks. The survivors, in the dialogues that follow, will comment on what happened and Katjaa will do everything to heal the injured character that you have brought back to base camp, whether it is David or Travis.

Meanwhile, the first disagreements emerge in the group: food rations begin to run low and Lilly, who should be in charge of the rationing, after arguing with Kenny will leave you the thankless task of deciding who and how much food to distribute during the day. At this point you can talk to Clementine, who will inform you that she has lost her hat, or discuss with Kenny, Lilly and Larry about who should lead the group and how the roles within it should be managed.

After that you will find yourself faced with the heavy choice above: with a group of ten survivors, you can only give food to four of them. Your decisions in this regard, however, will only affect part of the game's dialogue and will not lead to particularly heavy consequences. If you still have Doug among the survivors, he will refuse the food since he is still indebted to Lee for saving him (you will find him at work at the border barricade, I intend to install alarm bells); Carley can be given food: if you do, the between her and Lee will become more intimate; Lilly will refuse the food, but if you insist she will take it; Katjaa and Kenny will refuse it, asking you to give it to Duck first; Mark and Larry will take the food, asking you to leave the ax too: you can choose who to leave it with, and this will slightly affect events in the near future; Duck and Clementine will both happily accept food; when you feed Duck, then Kenny will accept it too, who will show his gratitude by telling you that there will always be a place for Lee in his trailer (Kenny is planning to leave the motel to resume his original plan of reaching the sea and escape with a boat); the last piece of food can be kept for yourself: all survivors will notice and remember your choice, whether you decide to give it to one of them or whether you decide to eat it yourself.

Once all the food is finished, you will witness a sad scene where all the characters to whom you have not distributed, killed and hungry will be framed. You will then be called by Katjaa together with Kenny: the woman will tell you that she was unable to save the injured man (who we remind you to be David or Travis, depending on the choice you made previously). At this point the deceased will come back to life as a zombie and grab Katjaa. At this point you will have to hit the living dead baby first in the head, then in the chest and then again in the head, finally pushing it towards the other survivors who will finish it: the zombie will be killed with the gun by Carley (if still alive), otherwise with the ax from Mark or Larry, depending on your choice to leave the weapon to one or the other. At this point the group will understand that it is not necessary to be bitten by a zombie to become one of them: all the members of the group are infected, and as soon as they die they will transform.

After the bitter discovery, the discussions will be interrupted by Andy and Dan St. John, two boys looking for gasoline. If you still have Doug among the survivors, you will notice the arrival of the two thanks to the bell system he was working on while distributing the food, otherwise Andy and Dan will simply enter the courtyard of the Motel. The two boys will promise food in exchange for gasoline, and invite the survivors to come to their farm. At this point you will have to choose whether or not to accept the offer: if you accept, only some of the other survivors will initially accompany you, to assess the situation before moving the whole group. If you decide not to go, however, you will see a discussion with a vote in which the group will vote to go to the farm.

    Chapter 3: St John's Farm

On the way to the farm, you can talk to Carley or Doug (remember that you will only have one of the characters available as the other will be dead based on your previous choices), or talk to the St. Johns, who will ask you questions about your group and your past. You can choose whether and how true you are, and your answers will partly influence what happens next.

At this point you will witness a scene with two bandits as protagonists: hidden by the forest, you will see how one of these will shoot the other in cold blood. After this brutal scene of violence the group will continue towards the farm. Andy and Danny will explain at this point that they will need the gasoline to keep the electric fence they built to keep the undead off their property active. Mark will be enthusiastic about the idea that there can be such a well-protected and safe place for the whole group, and you can decide whether to support his enthusiasm or to say that you are perplexed.

Once at the farm, you will meet Brenda, Andy and Danny's mother, who will soon befriend Katjaa after she offers her help for a sick cow in the pen. Brenda will also offer you a basket full of food, inviting your whole group for dinner at the farm. At this point Carley (or Doug), along with Ben, will go back to the forest with the food, to tell the other motel survivors that the farm is a safe place and to return with them all for dinner time.

Mark and Lee will stay at the farm instead, where there are several things to do before dinner: fixing the broken swing after examining the saw and plank near the house fence; pick up the rope and, still near the house, knock on the door to chat briefly with Brenda; examine the electric fence and evaluate its robustness; talk to Andy about the generator and help him with some work he has to do. In detail, the latter task consists of walking along the entire fence to disconnect any undead cables that have become entangled in it. During the reconnaissance walk, Mark will ask you about your with Larry and what you think of St. Johns: the dialogue will change slightly based on some of your previous answers, but you will not particularly influence events by deciding to tell the whole truth or not. to your mate. At this point the work will begin: the first zombie you meet will have an arrow stuck in the chest, to be removed before being able to push it away from the fence with the help of the ax; the second will instead be attached to the fence with your hands, so you will have to use the ax to cut them off and make him fall backwards; the third zombie will instead be totally poured inside the fence: Mark and Lee will have to go outside to move it and put the barricade back in order but, as soon as they have done so, the current will return and will be prevented from returning inside the safe area.

As the two discuss what to do, wondering why Andy reactivated the power after he assured him that he would cut the voltage in the whole area they had to examine, Mark is suddenly hit by an arrow: it is the bandits who, hidden in the forest, they shoot arrows from a distance. With Mark you will have to take cover behind the nearby tractor, where you will realize that your only salvation will be to reach the entrance gate. Paying attention to the phrases that the bandits will yell at you, you will notice that they will refer to an "agreement": this is a key point of the plot, which will be revealed later in the adventure.

To reach the entrance gate you will have to perform several actions: move the equipment to the rear of the tractor; go back to the front and remove the wedge that blocks the front wheels; when the tractor starts to move you will have to control Lee and move while staying under cover, otherwise you will be hit and die; at a certain point the tractor will run over a zombie and stop: move towards the undead to remove it and continue on your path; the tractor will also hit a second zombie, which will prove to be more combative than the previous one: remove it by breaking it in two to continue; At this point, walk the few meters that separate you from the entrance and return to the perimeter of the farm.

Once you get back you will find that in the meantime you have been joined by Kenny, Larry, Lilly, Duck and Clementine, while talking about the bandits with the St. Johns, they will simply say that action must be taken against them. Brenda will accompany Mark inside the house, to remove the arrow and heal his wound. At this point you can choose whether to go immediately with Danny to look for the base camp of the bandits, or if you want to stay a while on the farm and interact with the other survivors. Choose the second hypothesis to be able to discuss with the others what happened with the bandits; then go to the swing and push Clementine to cheer her up and give her hope; join Kenny and decide whether to be on his side or Lilly's (regarding the leadership of the group and ideas of who and how he should lead); finally talk to Lilly and Larry, then join Danny and go with him to the bandit base camp.

    Chapter 4: the bandit camp

The camp is relatively easy to find in the forest. Once you reach it, there are some actions to take in order to continue: examine the various crates of supplies, until you discover those with the mark of the St. John's farm (Danny will tell you that they are there for an exchange of favors: the bandits leave in peace the farm if they feed them); look in the box of bullets to find a digital camera, apparently working but without batteries; Now examine the inside of the tent to find Clementine's cap, along with a photo of a stuffed bunny covered in blood. At this point, Jolene will make an appearance and, apparently crazy, will say that she has lost her baby and that you have taken her away, aiming a crossbow at you.

KEY CHOICE: to defend yourself you can decide to shoot Jolene (after you have done so Danny will ask you why you did not spare her). If you don't shoot her, however, Danny will do it and Jolene will die anyway. The two will return to the farm, and Lee will keep the digital camera found at the field in his pocket.

Chapter 5: the St. John's farm

Back at the farm Danny won't tell exactly what happened in the forest, while you can stop on the patio to talk to Brenda, who will tell you more about the bandits but who, once questioned about Mark's health, will tell you that your friend he is resting and will not allow you to see him. Before continuing, go to the spot where you sawed off the plank to repair the swing and pick up the Swiss army knife. Then talk to Lilly, who will ask you what happened in the forest: if you tell her that you shot a woman she will remember and suspect you in the future, otherwise you can simply tell her that you have rummaged in the tent and found some objects. Lilly will tell you that she thinks it would be better to have dinner and leave, as she (incredibly) agrees with Kenny that the St. Johns are probably hiding something and are suspicious people.

Open the barn doors and enter: you will find Duck, Clementine, Katyaa and Andy around Mabel, the sick cow of the St. John who you will discover is not sick, but simply pregnant. Then talk to Duck and Clementine, who will talk about the barn smell and remind you of how the same smell was on Hershel's farm in the first episode. At the end of the conversation Lee will return the hat to Clementine. You can also speak to Andy: if you only ask him what time dinner will be, the boy will be friendly, while he will become suspicious if you try to talk about what happened with his brother in the forest and the woman he met at the camp.

At this point you can examine the back door of the barn, which is closed by a padlock. Kenny will arrive and tell you he has suspicions and explain how he saw Andy meticulously locking that door just before. Lee tells Kenny that he is able to remove the lock, look at what's beyond the door and put everything back as before without St. John noticing. The two will then be joined by Andy, who will tell them to leave that door alone so as not to make Brenda nervous. Exit outside and go to the generator (first you can talk to Larry and Brenda, but it is not necessary to continue the adventure): use the Swiss army knife to remove the front panel, use the switch to turn off the generator and then , again the Swiss army knife to remove the drive belt. At this point Andy will join you and repair the generator.

Now you can finally go back to the padlock in the barn and calmly pick it, while the others go to dinner and Kenny will cover you with an apology for your delay. Once the door is open Lee will be faced with a series of sharp and pointed butcher tools, completely covered in blood. He will then be joined by Andy, who will explain to him how the animals skin there, and keep everything closed because it is not a good sight to see.

    Chapter 6: dinner

Back in the house, Lee will ask where Mark is and Brenda will not answer him avoiding the question. Lee will then ask to be able to wash his hands. After exiting the dining room, examine the scratches on the floor and the cable going up the stairs. Follow it up to the upper floor. Examine the medicines in the cabinet and interact with the switch to turn on the light, which you will discover is coming from the next room. Go to the other room and move the bookcase to discover the secret door. Open it to find Mark in a pool of blood, with both games amputated. The friend will tell you not to eat dinner and so Lee, sensing what is happening, will rush down the stairs. Once in the dining room, you will have to say "DO NOT EAT!", As if you immediately choose to tell the truth (ie that the food is made up of people) your friends will laugh at you and still eat a bite. At this point you can tell what you found upstairs, receiving as an answer from the St. Johns a simple "do what it takes to survive". At this point you will have a choice, but whatever you say the following scene will always be the same: Andy will take Clementine and Danny will stop Lee, hitting him in the back of the head with the butt of his rifle and causing him to pass out.

    Chapter 5: the butcher's shop

You will wake up locked in the room where the St Johns keep the meat. Clementine will approach you and you will witness a dialogue that will change whether or not shortly before you have prevented Clementine from eating Mark's legs. Katjaa and Duck are being held in the house by the St. Johns, while Lilly, Kenny and Larry are locked up with you. Talk to Kenny to start a scene where Larry is going to have a heart attack.

KEY CHOICE: As you may have discovered earlier, Larry will wake up as a zombie once he is dead. Kenny, for this reason, will want to kill him immediately, while Lilly will continue to scream that her father is still alive and that he can be saved. You will simply have to decide whether to side with Lilly or Kenny (the two will both remember your choice), bearing in mind that Larry will die anyway, killed by Kenny with or without your help.

At this point, talk to Clementine and examine the ventilation duct: you will notice some screws. Without the Swiss army knife or some other tool, you will have to look for coins to unscrew the screws. After talking to Kenny and Lilly, you'll find them rummaging through the pockets of the newly deceased Larry. Use the pennies to unscrew the screws and help Clementine enter the duct. The girl will come out on the other side and unlock the door allowing you to exit.

    Chapter 6: escape

Once in the next room (the locked one at the back of the barn) choose a weapon and head outside to meet Danny. Approach him and Andy will appear, forcing you to hide. Peek from your hiding place and talk to Kenny to decide what to do next. The friend will ask you to peek one last time and, as soon as you do it, you will find Danny in front of you who will point a gun at you: immediately grab the weapon and attack the opponent, who will hit you with the butt of the gun before being in turn hit by Kenny. Danny will then back off, ending up trapped in the bear trap that he and his brother had placed just before you were peeking at them. At this point Kenny will run to the aid of his family, while you will be alone with Danny.

KEY CHOICE: With Clementine as a witness, you will have to decide whether or not to kill Danny, calculating that you have just realized that the only reason the boy wanted to go to the bandits' lair was to kill Jolene to be able to eat her. You can kill Danny with the pitchfork or not: if you do, Clementine will be more scared; if you spare him, you will incur Lilly's wrath, who would have wanted him dead instead.

You will now meet Carley (or Doug, depending on the character still alive) and Ben, whom Lee will ask to pass through the back as he passes through the main entrance of the house. At the door you will find Brenda, to whom you can lie by pretending to be one of her two children. You can also tell the truth and scare her by telling her you left Danny trapped in the barn. Brenda will take Katjaa hostage and point the gun at you. ATTENTION: when you have the gun pointed at you will have to remain still, to move slowly towards the two women when Brenda will aim at Katjaa's head. You will also have to measure your responses (you will have the usual multiple choices), because if you are too aggressive the woman will shoot you anyway, taking you to the game over. Once inside the house you will see Mark, by now transformed into a zombie, on the stairs reach out to Brenda: make the woman move back a little more so that your former friend will take her and bite her, while Katjaa will free herself.

Outside the house, you'll find Andy holding Duck hostage, with Kenny trying to free his son. Kenny will also take a bullet while Doug, if he is still alive, will help you in the fight by blinding Andy with his laser pointer. Andy will operate the electric fence and try to push Lee against it. If you have a good with Lily, the girl will save you by shooting Andy as soon as possible, otherwise you will have to fight for a few more seconds before your antagonist finally falls to the ground.

KEY CHOICE: At this point you will have to decide whether to kill Andy. If you hit him once, he will react and force you to push him against the electric fence. If you hit him several times with your fists, then you can try to calm him down by telling him that his mother and brother are dead. The boy will ask you at this point to end it, and you can decide whether to simply go away or whether to kill him by shooting him in the head or pushing him against the electrified fence. If you let him live, the electric fence will shut down and zombies will enter the area, killing Andy. At this point the group will leave the area, no longer safe, and among the wandering zombies you can also see Brenda, now transformed.

    Chapter 7: the abandoned car

Walking through the woods, you will have the opportunity to talk to the survivors and to be on Kenny's side, rather than being more ambivalent. If you make him a friend, Kenny will remind you that there will always be a spot on his camper for you. You will also talk to Clementine, who will ask you if you killed the men on the farm: Lee's answer will change the girl's opinion of him. You will then encounter an abandoned car. You choose what phrases to say during the approach (it's indifferent) and you will find that the car is packed with food and useful items.

KEY CHOICE: you will have to decide whether or not to loot the car. Kenny and Katjaa want to take it all, while Lilly and Clementine think it's stealing, and that it's still wrong. The party will still take the food, but your decision to agree or disagree will affect the events in one of the episodes at the end of the game. At the end of the episode, the digital camera will be returned to you, in which you will find a video of Jolene and you will discover that the woman has been watching you for some time and that she wanted to kidnap Clementine to keep her with her. The episode will end with a sad omen: now that the farm has fallen, the group will have a lot to fear from the forest bandits.
