Perfect World Entertainment and Echtra Games have announced that the winter themed update for Torchlight III titled Snow & Steam is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
The update is the biggest patch applied to Torchlight III since the October release and introduces a lot of festive cheer to the light-hearted and fast-paced dungeon crawler. Players can discover four jovial companions and a cheerful variation of a furry companion, eleven brand new legendary items (including five new icy weapons), a set of legendary armor, new festive furnishings of the Fort, a new "Fashion station”To customize the appearance of a hero and more.
Additionally, the update will bring numerous accessibility improvements, including a Forged class overhaul and changes to Fazeer's Dan'Gionn, along with other hidden secrets.
With the update, a new "Snow & Steam contractLimited time that gives players the opportunity to spend the holidays with two new fluffy companions: the Ice Owl and the Cat in the Ugly Sweater. Players who progress with this contract will be able to earn additional content, including snow-capped Fort furnishings plus an assortment of currency-based consumables and rewards. This limited time contract will only be available during the holiday season, but unlocked items will be permanent for players who earn them during that time.
Additionally, players will also be able to find two new companions on the Frontier and in the dungeons, an adorable Reindeer and the Merry Ferret, plus a special winter holiday themed variant of the acclaimed companion Retriever.
As they battle their way through the Frontier, Torchlight III players can also experience the joy of obtaining five brand new legendary weapons: four - the Mace of the North, Glacier Ridge, Wall of Ice and My Little General - will be part of the set. Arctic armaments, and there will also be a unique fifth, the Toymaker's Tool.
Players can also find the armor set Winter Text who possesses Lucky Adventurer, an ability that grants a + 20% bonus to Item Luck and + 10% Movement Speed for 30 seconds when a player kills an Elite enemy. Two new rare helmets, Frozen Head - which transforms a player's head into that of a Snowman - and Elf Hat, have also been added to get players even more into the holiday spirit.
Additionally, Snow & Steam introduces accessibility improvements for all players. The Forgiato's class unleashes some steam with massive combat improvements and a new interface to make it a more sustainable class. Fazeer's Dan'Gionn has also received adjustments - including more affixes and rewards - and there have been changes to the Fort's system, such as the brand new "Fashion Station" which will be available as soon as players have unlocked their Fort. The new station introduces transform and dye functions that allow players to customize the look and color of their gear.
