Review for Total War: Warhammer 2. Game for PC, Mac and Linux, the video game was released on 28/09/2017

There was a time when the desolate and arid place now known by some as the "Land of the Dead" was considered the cradle of one of the greatest civilizations that ever existed. It was the first real kingdom of humanity. Its kings were revered as gods, its ships ruled the seas before Marienburg even existed, its cities were paved with gold, and its magnificent monuments to death towered in the sky and could be seen for miles around. This was Nehekhara. But the obsession of its rulers has ruined their great civilization. They were obsessed with the first fear that has plagued humanity since the dawn of time: death.

The kings of the Tombs

2018 sees hordes of skeletal warriors animated by the perfidious will of Lich priests to go and fill that desert area of the Total War: Warhammer 2 map that was clamoring for a new Dlc army to be filled.

Creative Assembly seems to have heard this cry and offers us the first additional army for its fantasy title, born from the collaboration with the universe created by Games Workshop. As in the first chapter, the plan is to regularly release new playable races whose release accompanies the life cycle of the game until the release of the already awaited third chapter of the series.

In Total War: Warhammer 2 we can also use the races from the first chapter in the multiplayer mode and in the campaign "Mortal Empires”Which creates an immense game map dedicated to the owners of the two chapters released so far. Each new breed greatly enriches the populousness of the countryside, making it more and more interesting and credible.

The eye of the vortex

Tomb kings participate in the Eye of the Vortex campaign alongside the dark elves, high elves, lizardmen and Skaven. While the other races (already present at the release of the game) are competing for the dominance of the vortex, the guys from Creative Assembly have decided to bestow a different task on our army of mummies and skeletons: we will have to recover the books of the magic of the mighty Nagash scattered all over the world, in order to access the secrets of the mysterious black pyramid.

During the campaign we will have access to unique faction mechanics, such as the creation of weapons, armor, regiments of fame, talismans and arcane items, through the funeral cult. To make such wonders we will need to have canopic jars in quantity, the thematic coin of the kings of the tombs (such as slaves for the dark elves and food for the Skeven).

In no time at all, our expansionist aims will lead us to rise to sovereigns of the desert, perhaps officiating costly rituals capable of producing terrible sandstorms or recruiting the legendary ark of souls.

The heart of Nehekhara

The line-up of the Tomb Kings appears solid and varied, apparently similar to the army of the vampire counts due to the use of an infinite number of low-cost skeleton armies as the heart of their army, but profoundly different in the offensive potential proposed.

So forget the pale blood-sucking cousins, as the skeletons you will hire in your compositions can be so powerful that they can crush the most fearsome units known. A guard of the sepulchres with halberd he can easily put those silly Imperial Demigyphons to flight.

Absolute novelty introduced by the Kings of the sepulchres are the constructs and the rare constructs, magical-mechanical monsters able to freeze the blood in Doctor Frankenstein's veins. Get ready to unleash the ire of the mammoth Hierotitan and of the enigmatic Necrosphinx, to slaughter the enemy infantry in the company of a ferocious band of Ushabti and to send the ruthless to a gallop Knights of the necropolis.
