The news had been in the air for some time, Total War: Warhammer III has been officially announced by Sega confirming the release of the new title of the Games Workshop franchise in the course of 2021.
Ian Roxburgh, Game Director of Creative Assembly commented on the announcement explaining the objectives of the study:
From the beginning, our goal has been to create a series that allows you to immerse yourself in this incredible journey through the world we all love. Given the success that the first two titles in the series have had, which would not have been possible without the enormous support from our players, we have set more ambitious goals, and we can't wait for everyone to experience the result.
Dal canto suo, Games Workshop was enthusiastic about the work done by Creative Assembly in the videogame transpositions made so far. Jon Gillard, Global head of the company's licensing sector confirms this:
The World of Warhammer expertise, dedication and authenticity that Creative Assembly has managed to infuse into the Total War Warhammer franchise over the past few years has been wonderful, for us at Games Workshop and for fans around the world. Our designers had a blast creating and developing the Catai and Kislev armies for this project, and we can't wait to see them in action in the highly anticipated third title in the series.
Total War: Warhammer III will be released in the course of 2021 on Steam and the Epic Games Store but an official release date has not yet been made official. The title will be characterized by the possibility of influencing the course of the conflict based on each choice made by the player. The conflict of this third installment will extend from the Eastern Lands to the demon-infested Kingdoms of Chaos, and will see the emergence of new iconic races from the famous franchise.
