XPG Infarex M20 Gaming Mouse - Review

The world of gaming mice is extremely vast, offering a multitude of products capable of satisfying the needs of any user, both in ergonomic shape, in price range, and in connection type. The range is extremely wide because the mouse is the most personal peripheral that exists: the size, weight and type of handle for which this peripheral is designed will greatly affect the ease of use. In this review we are going to talk to you about a gaming mouse equipped with an optical sensor and RGB lighting at a truly ridiculous price: it is XPG Infarex M20.

The packaging of the mouse is extremely basic. The predominant color is black with red details, typical of the other branded packages XPG. On the front we find an image of the product with its name. In the back we find another image with all the technical characteristics attached such as the number of DPI, the presence of programmable keys and RGB lighting. Being a cheap mouse, the bundle is very thin, in fact we only find an instruction manual.

XPG Infarex M20 it is a Wired mouse therefore equipped with a cable covered with braided nylon in order to make it more resistant and durable over time. The dimensions are on the average of other gaming mice and is able to adapt to any type of hand and handle. The actual dimensions are 132 x 69 x 43,5 mm for a total of 160 grams: certainly not a featherweight, but it turns out to be well balanced.

The XPG Infarex M20 structure is made entirely of matte black plastic, which is unlikely to attract our fingerprints. At the top we find the classic buttons, i.e. the left button, the right button, the wheel covered with rubber, the central button and a button to select the DPI. This last button will also be used to change the color of the various LEDs. In the back, or the one where we are going to rest the palm, we find the XPG logo, obviously illuminated.

On the left side we find two programmable buttons, which by default on Windows will be used as back and forward keys. We also find an RGB LED strip which will run along the entire profile of the mouse. At the bottom of XPG Innfarex M20 we find the 5.000 DPI optical sensor, a practical switch to select the pooling frequency and an additional switch to turn the LEDs on and off. On the right side, however, there is no key.

Under the plastic keys we find some OMRON switch able to withstand up to a maximum of 20 MLN of clicks and therefore guarantee a considerable duration and life of the mouse. Since this is an inexpensive mouse, there is no possibility to change the switches. The optical sensor is capable of reaching 5.000 maximum DPI and we find several profiles already installed inside the mouse. We can choose between 5 different profiles, where each corresponds to a lighting color and a different DPI number. We don't have any support software, so we won't be able to change the XPG Infarex M20 lighting to our liking, as we won't be able to select different DPI steps. As already mentioned we can select the level of pooling rate through the switch that we find at the bottom of the mouse. We find three steps 250 / 500 / 1000 Hz.

We tried XPG Infarex M20 with different types of games and also with different applications, keeping the DPI at 1.600 and Pooling Rate at 1.000 Hz. To be a cheap mouse it proved to be extremely valid, with a good speed especially as regards the switches. Although we cannot set a custom DPI range, those offered by XPG allowed us to find the right Setup in a short time. In FPS it proved to be up to par, with speed and precision worthy of more expensive mice. In role-playing games, especially MMORPGs, XPG Infarex M20 has proved equally valid, even if the mere presence of two programmable side buttons has given us some disadvantages, but we remind you that the price of the mouse is around thirty euros, and for this figure it is difficult to expect more. In applications such as Adobe Photoshop and Autodeks Inventor the mouse proved to be excellent, proving also in this case very precise; the two side buttons, in this case, proved to be very useful for setting the commands most often used.

XPG Infarex M20 Gaming Mouse - Review

XPG Infarex M20 is a cheap mouse, but it is a good start for any gamer who wants a good product without spending a lot of money. We find on board a 5.000 DPI optical sensor, RGB lighting, a switch to select the desired Pooling Rate. OMRON switches are felt, especially in fast-paced games such as FPS where a decent speed of action is required. The weight is not really low, given that nowadays mice with honeycomb perforated structure are in fashion in order to have a lower number of grams under the hand, but it turns out to be well balanced and we will hardly find ourselves with a tired wrist. The ergonomics and the dimensions adopted make XPG Infarex M2o compatible with all hands and types of handles.

If you are looking for a good mouse with an extremely low price and without giving up RGB lighting, you can buy the XPG Infarex M20 at a price of around 32 €.
