ASUS announces TRX40 MB for Ryzen 3990X CPU

    ASUS announces ROG Zenith II Extreme Alpha, ROG Strix TRX40-XE Gaming and Prime TRX40-Pro S, three brand new motherboard models specially designed to harness the incredible computing power of the latest AMD® Ryzen® Threadripper ™ 3990X processor.

    While current ROG Zenith II Extreme, ROG Strix TRX40-E Gaming and ASUS Prime TRX40-Pro motherboards are the best solution in handling 24 and 32 core Threadripper processors, the new ROG Zenith II Extreme Alpha, ROG Strix TRX40-XE Gaming and ASUS Prime TRX40-Pro S are designed to maximize the even more extreme performance of the latest 3990-core AMD 64X processor.

    ROG Zenith II Extreme Alpha features 16 Infineon TDA21490 power phases, each certified for 90A, to deliver maximum efficiency and improved overclocking capability, allowing users to push performance like never before.

    Thanks to the Dr MOS phases, the Zenith II Extreme Alpha can be perfectly matched to the 3990X 64 core processors and to the G.Skill Trident Z Neo 256 GB (8 × 32 GB) DDR4-3600 CL 16 memories. OptiMem III, Zenith II Extreme Alpha is currently the only HEDT motherboard capable of running at 600MHz CL 16 with all DIMM slots populated, totaling 256GB.

    Coming in Q2020 40, the new ROG Strix TRX40-XE Gaming and ASUS Prime TRX40-Pro S motherboards have also been updated. ROG Strix21472-XE Gaming features TDA 40 stages for the CPU VRM, and both ROG Strix40-XE Gaming and ASUS Prime TRX64-Pro S feature high-current Dr. MOS stages for memory. These upgraded components allow motherboards to offer ample leeway to handle AMD's XNUMX-core CPUs as well as the latest high-density memory kits.
