Dark Souls - Embers Guide

    Dark Souls - Embers Guide

In this short guide we will provide you with help in tracking down the various Embers of Dark Souls, very useful items that allow blacksmiths to upgrade and enchant your weapons, once we were able to recover and supply them.

Before starting it is good to keep a few things in mind though:

    • Some enchantments will not need any Ember, but it will be enough to find the right blacksmith: bringing Normal weapons to +5 will be able to do any blacksmith; Rickert then he will basically be able to transform a +5 Normal weapon into a Magical one, and upgrade it up to +5 further, the Giant Blacksmith instead he can basically create unique weapons, if you have the necessary items, or transform the Normal +5 into Electric, the skeletal blacksmith Come on in turn, he will have no problem turning your +5 Normals into Burning, which can also be upgraded up to +5
    • Each Ember must be delivered to a specific blacksmith: Andrew can be found in the Church of the Undead before the Dark Root Garden, Rickert you will find him caged at the beginning of the Petit Londo Ruins (we may visit him since our first arrival at the Fire Sanctuary, as no enemy will attack us along the way), the Giant Blacksmith instead he will work at Anor Londo while the blacksmith Come on it is located in the Catacombs, just before the fog that leads from the boss Girandola
    • The Embers will be lost once the game is over, so they will be recovered again in the New Game +; it is therefore advisable to reinforce as much as you can the weapons that will be useful in the second game (if there will be) before facing the last Boss and then ending our first adventure

Now let's finally see where to find these Embers, their function and the blacksmith in charge of working on them

      LARGE BRUSH

Where to retrieve it: Depth (Depths)
How to get it: It is located in a chest behind the first butcher you will meet in this map, the one behind a counter intent on slicing the meat that you will notice as soon as you go down the stairs
    Deliver to: Andrew
Function: Allows you to upgrade Normal weapons from +5 to +10; Transforms +5 Normal weapons into Raw weapons, upgradeable up to +5 further

      GIANT BRUSH

Where to retrieve it: Ruins of Petit Londo (New Londo Ruins)
How to get it: On the third floor of the dilapidated structure before the fog door to the Abyss. It can be reached by taking the lift to the ground floor (the area with the Knights-Skulls); as soon as you arrive here, go along the wall on the left under the portico to find another door: enter it and go up the stairs to then cross another door on the right. Here you will have in front of a corpse with a Brave Warrior's Soul while on the right another way: go all the way down until you get to some stairs along the wall that will lead you to the last landing, then go to the left to finally find the chest with the Ember
    Deliver to: I'd go
Function: Allows you to upgrade Normal weapons up to +15

    GIANT MAGIC BRUSH

Where to retrieve it: Duke's Archives
How to get it: After defeating the Seath boss, return to the room where you first met him, before you die and end up imprisoned. Here you will find a treasure chest with the precious Ember inside
    Deliver to: Rickert
Function: Allows you to upgrade Magic weapons up to +10

       ENCHANTED BRON

Where to retrieve it: DarkRoot Garden
How to get it: This ember is located in the area after the ruined building where you met the cat Alvina; more or less in the center of this area there is a small pond in the middle of which there is the casket that interests us, but it will be protected by two mushrooms and various mushrooms
    Deliver to: Rickert
Function: Transform +5 Magic weapons into Enchanted weapons, which can be further upgraded up to +5

    DIVINE BRUSH

Where to retrieve it: DarkRoot Garden
How to get it: After defeating the Moon Butterfly boss, continue along the bridge where the fight took place to enter the tower, then go up the stairs to the top to find a petrified blacksmith holding the ember in his hands (NB: it is extremely important to recover this ember and create a Divine weapon before venturing into the Catacombs, as this weapon is the only one that allows you to definitively kill the enemies present here without necessarily finding and killing the Necromancer who controls them first)
    Deliver to: I'd go
Function: Transforms +5 Normal weapons into Divine weapons, upgradeable up to +5 further

    GIANT DIVINE BRUSH

Where to find it: Tomb of Giants (Tomb of Giants)
How to get it: Starting from the first bonfire on the map, go up the stairs on your right and then continue always to the right along a very narrow street adjacent to the wall; follow it until you reach a small hole in the ground in front of a huge sarcophagus. Enter it and you will be on a ledge above a dark area (strange huh?): Be careful, the Ember will be under there in the hands of a petrified blacksmith, but it is well protected by six giant skeletons that will make you sweat the conquest
    Deliver to: I'd go
Function: Allows you to upgrade Divine weapons up to +10

    CRYSTAL BRUSH

Where to find it: Duke's Archives
How to get it: Relatively easy to find, go to the room on the ground floor whose stairs will take you to the outside garden which leads to the next map, the Crystal Cave. Before going up these stairs, however, rummage through the libraries in this room to find a casket with your new Ember.
    Deliver to: Giant Blacksmith
Function: Transform +10 Normal weapons into Crystal weapons, which can be further upgraded to +5

    DARK BRUSH

Where to find it: Painted World of Ariamis
How to get it: Starting from the bonfire, after having opened the door leading into the cloister, enter the structure to the right of the statue surrounded by slugs armed with spears; here you will find a door (which can be opened with the key that is recovered in the underground labyrinth of the map infested with wheel-skeletons), enter it, go up the stairs and go straight until you reach an open space with some enemy armed with a torch and above all the usual blacksmith petrified that guards the Ember
    Deliver to: I'd go
Function: Transforms +5 Divine weapons into Dark weapons, upgradeable up to +5

    GIANT FIRE EMBARK

Where to find it: Demon's Ruins
How to get it: At the second bonfire on the map you will notice a large staircase that descends into a small area at the end of which there will be the door with the fog that leads to the Fire Demon. Go down the stairs that lead to this enemy but do not cross the fog, instead turn immediately after the staircase to the left to find a small road protected by two Taurus Demons; once defeated you will find yourself under another portico, at the end of which you will find the chest with the Ember. So go through it all to retrieve it, but beware of the five giant worms that will pop out from the ceiling
    Deliver to: Vamos
Function: Allows you to upgrade Flame weapons up to +10

    EMBARK FLAME OF CHAOS

Where to find it: Demon's Ruins
How to get it: Once you've defeated the Endless Discharge boss, go down to the new area that was previously completely covered in lava. On the right there will be the path to take to continue in the game, while on the left there will be several Taurus Demons waiting for you. Defeat them all (they will never respawn once they do) and examine the remaining lava puddles: one of the two corpses in the area (just the one completely immersed in the lava) will contain the coveted Ember
    Deliver to: Come on
Function: Transforms +5 flaming weapons into Flame of Chaos weapons, which can be further upgraded up to +5

There is therefore nothing left to do but wish you good research and have fun!
