    Strategy and useful advice

The Persecutor is one of Dark Souls II's toughest enemies, but it's not overly complex to deal with: you just need to understand and memorize the timing with which to dodge its attacks. The first piece of advice we would like to give you is to always stay on his left (where he has the shield), as this will make the fight relatively simple. In fact, you just need to dodge to the right or try to go behind him with his every move. Know that he is vulnerable to magic, so the fight will be easy for those with a wizard (just stay at a distance and hit him). But always be careful not to fall down during the fight. With these little tricks, you will see that taking home the victory will not be that complicated. Also know that you can make a parry at the beginning of the fight so that the boss is in the trajectory of one of the ballistae and hit him with it (a shot will take away a good part of his life points and then you will only need a few hits to win the fight).

    Attacks

    • Charge: The boss charges you at high speed while levitating, dealing damage and throwing you into the air (dodge this attack, as it can be very dangerous)
    • Triple Slash: The Persecutor executes three slashes with his weapon, the third of which will blow you away if you have low balance
    • Triple Air Slash: combo identical to the previous one, only with the final slash performed in the air
    • Shield Shot: the boss will hit you with the shield, leaving you stunned for a few moments and removing your entire stamina if you try to parry (it is therefore advisable to dodge this attack too)
    • Persecution: the greatsword will begin to glow with a bluish light; if the boss hits you in this situation he will stab you, taking a lot of life points and cursing you (which will give him a greater attack bonus on you)
    • Dark Magic: After performing the Persecution attack, the boss will occasionally throw a volley of dark orbs at you three consecutive times

    Drop

    • Soul of the Persecutor
    • 17000 anime
    • Ring of Blades

    Lore

The boss in question is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating creatures in the Dark Souls II imaginary. His first appearance occurs almost at the beginning of the game making us immediately understand that it is better to move on and not face him on this occasion. The Persecutor, in fact, is a very complicated boss to deal with, and probably for this reason he has been put on the trail of the "chosen one". Its provenance is unknown, but the red eyes and the fact that it pops up everywhere (at least in the Scholar of the First Sin) from a whitish cloud suggests that the creature comes from the Abyss, thus referring to the first Dark Souls. Who sent him and why he is on our trail, however, is not yet clear.
