The fledgling veteran studio has partnered with Sony on a mysterious project.

Taking advantage of the Summer Game Fest showcase, the leaders of Deviation Games confirmed they have partnered with Sony Interactive Entertainment to develop original intellectual property. The mysterious game will probably arrive exclusively on PlayStation, hypothetically only on PlayStation 5 but at the moment the arrival platforms have not been specified.

Dave Anthony and Jason Blundell, former Game Director and former Executive Producer of Treyarch, respectively, are at the helm of the fledgling studio. As CEO and COO of Deviation Games, they took the stage at the streaming event to introduce themselves to the public and announce that they are working on a new high-budget IP under Sony's wing. No details were given on the nature of the project, other than that “it's all about quality” and it's “huge and rich in content, focused on a lot of action and a lot of energy”.

Deviation Games will therefore remain independent, but apparently has chosen to approach PlayStation for its debut game. The announcement is likely to be linked to Hermen Hulst's statements on over 25 exclusives coming to PlayStation consoles.
