How to change or evolve classes in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia

How to change or evolve classes in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia

Continuing the adventure of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, you will be given the opportunity to evolve units with new classes. This will allow for example archers (Archers) to become snipers (Snipers), or soldiers (Soldiers) to become Knights. In this guide we will talk about how the evolution process works and places to visit if you want to change class.

You will have the opportunity to change the class of a unit from the very beginning of the game, during Act I: all of Alm's friends from the Ram village (Kliff, Tobin, Faye, and Gray) do not have a specific class, being all of the Villagers. This means that they will not have any kind of specialization, which is very useful since it allows you to choose in the smallest details with which unit and with which style we want to approach the game from the beginning.

How to change or evolve classes in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia

Changing the class of a unit requires you to reach a certain level first. For the Villagers the level we are talking about is 4. If you want to evolve a class like the Soldier or the Mage you will need to reach an even higher level: the first will be able to carry out its evolution at level 8, while the magician will require a minimum level of 12 before you can advance.

Once you have reached the correct level for evolution, head to the nearest dungeon. Reach the back area (being careful to sweep all the enemies that parry in front of you) and look for the statues of Mila. You can only change your current class with one of these statues. The good news is that the statues are scattered all over the place during the adventure and can be encountered during the normal game experience, without making detours.

The first statue you will encounter is inside the Thieves Shrine Interior outside the village of Ram. you'll meet her almost immediately where you started the story of Alm, and it's in the game's first explorable dungeon. While we don't recommend that you come back here every time you want to change classes, it's still a plausible option.
