Pokémon Sun and Moon, 10 tips to get started

Pokémon Sun and Moon, 10 tips to get started

Pokémon Sun and Moon will be available for Nintendo 3DS starting tomorrow, November 23rd. The wait is long, and in this simple guide we want to show you some of the ways to start your adventure in Alola. Some tips that will make the Pokémon title easier and more fun.

Pokémon Sun and Moon, 10 tips to get started

    1. The choice of starter: as in any Pokémon game it is always difficult to choose the starter, that is the creature that from the beginning will accompany you far and wide for the adventure. We have already illustrated the evolutions of the starters, to make the initially easier choice between Popplio, Rowlet and Litten. In case you are still not convinced, don't worry because there will be many other Pokémon throughout the story, and replacing one with the other is not difficult. So do not be paranoid about the starter to take.
    2. Speed up the texts: through the game menu it will be possible to increase the speed of the texts, as well as to eliminate the fighting animations. This will greatly increase the speed of the game, since Pokémon is almost always full of "repetitive" animations and perhaps too slow text.
    3. Uniform your team: we know that every player will have their favorite Pokémon, but don't be obsessed with just growing that one. Your team (composed of a maximum of six Pokémon) must be as uniform as possible, so let the Pokémon in the team level and evolve, to always have an important choice depending on the type of opponent.
    4. Defensive move: fights in Pokémon are always composed of offensive moves, that is, actual attacks, and instead defensive moves that improve defense or attack, or cause other effects that do not immediately cause damage to the opponent. Our advice is not to snub these moves, because against certain types of enemies they will prove fundamental.
    5. QR code: we have already told you about these very useful codes, which will make you discover the position and details on all the Pokémon in the game. In addition, every 10 QR-Code there will be the spawn of a rare Pokémon, which must however be captured within an hour.
    6. Exploration: Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, like all the other titles in this saga, will be more or less linear in their history. But beware, as an experienced player can also choose to carefully explore every corner of the environment in search of secret trainers and unknown paths. Backtracking is essential to truly discover the entire Pokémon world.
    7. Feed Pokémon. The little creatures of the Pokémon world are animals that need pampering and care. In addition to making them fight it will also be important to feed them, to create a strong bond between the trainer and the Pokémon (which is concretely reflected in some parameters of the creature). Feed Poké Beans, or other food and items you will find in stores.
    8. Talk to people: cities are full of inhabitants, who will almost always have something to tell you. Talk to everyone, as some will give you clues about Pokémon to look for or the game's storyline. Others, on the other hand, will be able to give you items such as potions, or reward you for the success of small missions (for example, collect a certain number of Pokémon).
    9. Don't avoid the weed. As usual, the first area where Pokémon can be collected is grass (as we saw in the Demo). Do not be bored by this activity, because it is essential and in the Sun and Moon even in the first areas it will be possible to find interesting creatures. Take your time, and explore the boring weed!
    10. Festival Plaza: It is a social hub of the game, which must be exploited every day. In addition to talking to people, and buying items like Pokéballs for example, every day you can play in the lottery and win random prizes. Investing a little time at the Plaza every day will certainly not get you into trouble, and will allow you to receive juicy rewards.
