Pokémon Sword and Shield are two of the best-selling games ever for Nintendo Switch. Game Freak, for better or for worse, has managed to bring many gamers back into the Pokémon world, sometimes winking at longtime fans.
The latest DLC, in this sense, has proved to be an excellent ploy to capture all those who have loved Pokémon over the various generations. Thanks to it, in fact, the Sword and Shield Pokédex has expanded enormously with Pokémon from previous titles. Some have returned exactly as we knew them, others not.
The trio of legendary birds of Kanto returns in fact with completely new forms and it will be the subject of this guide to explain how to get Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres in their Galar forms.
Articuno of Galar
First, you will need to go to the giant tree located in the center of Ball Lake. After seeing a short cutscene in which you will see the three legendary birds interact with each other, you will unlock the event to be able to go in search of the Legendary Pokémon.
To find Articuno, you'll need to head to the Snowcapped Mountains of the Corona Land. If you pay enough attention, you will hear his cry and try to follow the direction of the sound.
Once spotted, Articuno will create two doubles of itself. To start the fight and then capture the Pokémon, you will have to interact with the authentic Article. Unfortunately, however, there is no way to tell the original from the fakes. Precisely for this reason, we advise you to save before interacting with them, so as not to have to repeat the search for the Pokémon.
Zapdos of Galar
Zapdos will be found in the Wilds of Galar. Wander the lands and once you spot the Pokémon, it will start running away from you.
Use your bike to run faster and keep up with Zapdos in the best possible way. Once you have chased it for some time, the Pokémon will get tired and ready to be confronted and captured..
Moltres of Galar
You will find Moltres instead at the Lonely Isle of Armor. The Pokémon will fly over the island continuously.
Situate yourself in a strategic spot where you think Moltres will fly low enough to be aware of your presence (also try whistling to get his attention). At that point, Moltres will approach and can begin the fight and be ready to be captured.
