Resident Evil: new movie coming to Netflix

For video games it is time for cinematic transpositions. After the success of the series dedicated to The Witcher, several production houses are trying their hand at numerous projects that will transpose the beautiful textures of video games into movies or TV series.

The number of titles that will make the leap is growing week after week and it is plausible to expect a real invasion of these productions in the years to come.

Resident Evil: new movie coming to Netflix

During the last few hours, Netflix Portugal's Twitter account has released the trailer for an as yet unannounced Resident Evil project which will see the light in the course of 2021.

This is not the previously announced live action TV series, but a CGI movie called Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness which will star Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield.

No one else in the world showed the trailer and the offending tweet was promptly removed, which is what it suggests a reveal that occurred by mistake.

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness will be the fifth CGI film produced on the series after Biohazard 4D-Executer (2000 short film), Resident Evil: Degeneration (2008), Resident Evil: Damnation (2012) and Resident Evil: Vendetta (2017).
