The Callisto Protocol, the new sci-fi horror from the creator of Dead Space, is definitely set in the PUBG universe. Like? Mystery.

Announced to The Game Awards 2020, The Callisto Protocol comes from Glen Schofield and his new studio Striking Distance, a developer created specifically to create a "narrative experience" in the world of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. However, when the Callisto protocol was shown, the game looked much more like Dead Space than PUBG.

However, speaking to IGN, a Striking Distance spokesperson confirmed that the game is really the same narrative experience and is connected to PUBG, but he didn't say exactly how.

This connection could be very interesting: PUBG's background narrative it has become more and more thorough over time (including an appearance of Jonathan Frakes among many other things). The Callisto Protocol is set on one of Jupiter's moons in the year 2320, while the battle royale is based on the story of a multibillionaire who organizes mercenary battles in his fictional homeland. It remains to be seen how to bring the two stories together.
