Over the year the rumors about Silent Hill, famous survival horror video game series signed Konami, they quickly followed, rekindling the hopes of fans of the franchise. The lack of confirmation from the company could have extinguished the joy of even the most avid fans, but to keep it alive and well were the latest rumors, concerning Silent Hill Shattered Memories.
The title, released in 2009 on Wii, PlayStation 2 e PSP, could in fact soon have a sequel: to reveal it is Sam Barlow, writer and designer of the game, who wanted to address the topic through a tweet.
Within the latter Barlow announced that he was currently working on a pitch - or a first draft - of the sequel to Silent Hill Shattered Memories, also clarifying how this work had nothing to do with another project in progress at his studio, which is a mysterious horror title known as Project.
Barlow hasn't been particularly clear about the title's making, nor has he stated whether the sequel is a project signed exclusively by his studio. Half Mermaid Production.
Despite the secrecy behind the Silent Hill Shattered Memories, however, the writer and designer still wanted to clarify how the project was born for two reasons in particular: firstly there would be the continuous demand for similar titles by the public, followed by the current situation of the videogame market. The latter would in fact be full of opportunities for Silent Hill-style titles, especially given the recent release of games like Death Stranding e Control.
At the moment, unfortunately, all that remains is to be satisfied with this - albeit little - information, hoping that further details will soon come directly from Barlow. Pending developments, however, all fans of the franchise can fill the wait by replaying the adventure of the fourth chapter of the series, made available on GOG in the past few days.
