After beating Infinite Discharge, you will have access to Ruins of the Demon. It's time to move forward on your Dark Souls adventure and face the next boss: the Fire demon. The fearsome enemy will block your way to Lost Izalith, unless you have reached rank 2 in the pact "Via Chaos“: If you did, you will have access to a shortcut to the next area, to the right of the Demon's fog, and you can then skip this boss. Obviously, we advise you to deal with it anyway, and here we will give you some tips on how to do it in the simplest and most effective way.
Strategy and useful advice
The Fire Demon is not a particularly difficult boss: just follow a few simple tips and the victory will be yours. First of all, know that he is sensitive to bleeding and fire and that his attacks are almost all curbable by staying behind him for the duration of the fight; remember, then, to equip a shield with a high resistance to fire, because it can be vital.
Hit him always and only on the tail or on the butt and that's it. When it flies or turns, just run fast enough and reposition yourself. Also, when it takes off and does the "explosive sweep," you will have to move away, as this attack creates a damaging shock wave. If you can't get away in time, try to parry. Keep hitting him while standing behind him and be careful of the two shock waves: with these few, simple, tricks you will have no problem bringing home the victory.
Attacks:
- Explosive Sweep: The boss waves his weapon in the air and causes a powerful shockwave
- Explosive Seismic Strike: The boss gives a hammer in the middle of his legs and unleashes a large explosion
- Sweep: Fire Demon gives two quick sweeps with his weapon; to avoid him run and position yourself behind him
- Crash: The boss takes off and throws himself to the ground, creating a shock wave
- Vertical blow: the Fire Demon performs a tremendous vertical blow, capable of hitting you even if you are very far from him; to be able to stem it, roll at the last moment sideways (we do not recommend the parade, because, unless you have a lot of stamina, the blow is able to break your guard and cause you really huge damage)

As well as the Demon of Refuge and Wandering Demon, with whom it shares the aesthetic features and most of the movements, the Fire Demon is a creature generated by Chaos. The desire for Izalith witch she has condemned herself and her daughters to a life of torment and curses, but she has also extended this dismal burden to the creatures in question, eager for blood and pain without even knowing why. The gigantic demon, unlike the others, as the name suggests, appears somehow more related to witches, as it is pervaded with flames and is able to use them to attack. Could it be a special being? Who knows… the Dark Souls universe is still a mystery.
