Dark Souls - Boss Guide: Shrine Guardian

Dark Souls - Boss Guide: Shrine Guardian

The adventure a Lordran continues: today we're going to face the first boss of the DLC Dark Souls "Artorias of the Abyss", the Shrine Guardian. As soon as we enter the portal, we will see a corridor in front of us, which will lead us inside an arena, in which we will face the aforementioned chimera. It guards the County of Oolacile, so to access the rest of the expansion we will have to defeat it.

Do not worry: it is not a particularly difficult obstacle and, with our help, you will overcome very quickly. You are ready?

    Strategy and useful tips:

First, know that he is very fast, so try to be light so that you can easily dodge his attacks. Once inside the arena, dodge and attack as soon as he finishes hitting. If a series of attacks starts, keep your distance. If you use heavy weapons, attack it only once, while if you use light weapons you can hit it several times, but always paying attention to dodge at the right time.

Continue dodging and attacking at the right time and that's it.

    Attacks:

    • Charge - the boss will try to hit you with his horns, charging you after lowering his head
    • Electric Shot - When away from you, the boss will fire electric bullets, not excessively fast
    • Fly and charge - the boss will try to hit you by charging you after taking off (he will do so when you are far away from you), which will cause him to drop his tail, giving you the opportunity to hit and cut it
    • Flight and Electric Shot - The boss will take off and start firing electric bullets
    • Horn attacks - the boss will try to hit you with his horns, moving his head from right to left and then from left to right
    • Attacks with horns and legs - the boss will try to hit you with a series of paws and attacks with the horns (keep your distance)
    • Shockwave - the boss stands up on two legs and then falls back to the ground, causing a shockwave (always keep your distance)
    • Back - the boss will back off several meters, causing you to lose the lock

    Drop:

    • Soul of the Guardian
    • Tail of the Guardian (if you cut off his tail)
    • 30.000 anime
    • a Humanity

Dark Souls - Boss Guide: Shrine Guardian

Little is known about this fascinating creature, set to defend the access to the County of Oolacile. The fact that its soul cannot be exchanged to create a special weapon is also indicative of an ambiguous relevance within the lore of the game, but not useless for this. The peculiarity that stands out the most, however, is that linked to its with death: once killed, in fact, the creature (returning to the starting point of the DLC later) is found alive, and moreover accompanied by other similar beings. This, unfortunately, does not shed light on its genesis, but would seem to confirm the immortal nature of both the place and the creature itself. The red eyes, then, would seem to want to underline the origin of the same from the depths of the Abyss. Was it generated by Manus himself to prevent access to the most daring? We will find out only by living… or, better said, by dying!
