No future for the mobile title.
During his announcement during E3 2018, Gears Pop! it immediately appeared as a somewhat bizarre title. The union of styles as different from each other as that of the Funko Pop figurines and Gears of War, did not fully convince and today, only a year and a half after its debut, Mediatonic's mobile title has been permanently closed.
The announcement of the shutdown was made last October when the studio declared it was now unsustainable to continue supporting the game with new content and bug fixes. In the meantime, the overwhelming success of Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout has brought Mediatonic into the arms of Epic Games; acquisition that led to the closure of Gears Pop !.
On the other hand, it's not easy to keep up with giants like Fortnite and Fall Guys.
