How to get Instagram dark mode

How to get Instagram dark mode

In this article we will see how to get Instagram dark mode on iPhone, iPad or Android. When enabled, Instagram's dark mode darkens the screen by turning the background from white to black.

You can get Instagram dark mode on your iPhone, iPad or Android by updating your device settings. There are no in-app settings to activate Instagram's dark mode - the app will mirror your device's settings. You will need at least iOS 13 or Android 10 to put Instagram black.

Putting dark mode on Instagram changes an app's background to a darker color - typically black rather than white - to reduce the amount of bright white light on the screen. While dark mode isn't actually any better on your eyes, it can help save your device battery and can feel gentler to look at, especially before bed.

Instagram has dark mode for iPhone or iPad with iOS 13 or later and Android with Android 10 or later. When activated, it changes the app background (behind the photos) to black and all text to white.

For both iOS and Android, there are no settings to activate dark mode within the Instagram app itself, but you activate dark mode in your device's system settings and the Instagram app will automatically adjust to match the rest of the your device. Here's how to get black Instagram.

Quick Tip: Before you start, make sure your Instagram app is updated to the latest version.
